AUTUMN ✧ SUNDAY AFTERNOON ✧ SUNNY ✧ OUTFIT[attr="class","brenpost"]A whirlwind of questions swirled around in Brendon’s mind. Like, why had his mother’s friend asked him to help, knowing full well her daughter was absolutely impossible to get along with? What had she honestly expected to happen? Brendon appeared as closed off as ever as he entered Panacea’s library, heading straight for a quiet corner where he could claim one of the study tables. He knew his mother well enough to know she hadn’t been behind it—she’d always been reluctant of him making friends. Luckily for her, he never made any, and that was part of the reason why she was always smiling. The reminder of her face disgusted him—but that wasn’t the point. He didn’t really want to think about her. Didn’t even want to envision her. With a heavy sigh, he dragged a hand down his face, banishing those memories off to the darkest regions, and pulled out a chair to sit. From his bag, he drew out two brand new iPhone boxes, setting them onto the table. Opening one, he slid the phone out and powered it on. As the screen loaded, Brendon briefly glanced around the library in search of a familiar blonde. He honestly didn’t know whether he wanted to see her or not. For a school with such a sprawling, lavish campus, it was surprisingly difficult to find a moment to one’s self. Between classmates, roommates, and anyone in between, it was hard to find a place of one’s own. Still, she considered the library a pleasant respite from it all. Here, it was easy to find a spot between the shelves, surrounding yourself with pockets of knowledge found between lines of text.

It was even easier when there wasn’t someone sitting directly in the way of the shelf that you needed.

Before her was an all-too-familiar student, brows furrowed under that mess of mousy brown hair. Why he wore such a scowl, she didn’t know. Even more confounding was that he had not one, but two expensive devices right in front of him. And judging by those boxes, they were brand new.

She quietly cleared her throat, trying to catch his attention without being too disruptive. When that proved to go unnoticed, she spoke up, asking ”Do you mind?” in a hushed whisper before nodding at the shelf behind him.
