She was angry, furious with him, but saying it out loud only hurt her again. Suddenly her eyes were burning and she was taking a step back, losing her entirely composure. Her chest rose and fell as her eyes glistened with tears.

“That’s NOT what happened,” He insisted, with deep-seeded frustration swelling within his chest. But the sight of her on the verge of tears stung at his heart. “If you would just listen to me, I can explain!”
He took a deep breath and tentatively glanced around. They were practically shouting at each other, still exposed in the open because she had refused to go to the secluded spot with him.
“I wasn’t accusing you of that.” He repeated, his frown deepening as he returned his gaze to her. Her teary upset made it easier for him to be more… honest. “I was just really embarrassed and overwhelmed.”
Wh—Which he had thought she’d been doing on purpose. “I… got jealous, and wanted to know that you would only do something like that with me… so I… confronted you about it.”

Brendon’s frown intensified, a cloud of moodiness settling over his features as he dwelled over how unheard he always felt. But still, he was relieved knowing that his words had made a difference, explaining things that… she hadn’t understood.
“…You weren’t… talking about…,” Josuette began, but her words faded as she grew quiet once again. Brendon had no idea what she’d thought he’d been referring to, but he was glad his explanation had… cleared the misunderstanding between them.

But fortunately for him Josuette was still beside herself with embarrassment. She couldn't believe she had thought the worst...when it had always been just a innocent question. However her time to dwell on such things passed when they were interjected by a teacher. "Oh my, what do we have here two stragglers on a rendezvous? No no, this won't do, off to class with you both." The silver haired man ordered, one hand on his hip while the other playfully pointed in the direction of the education building. Josuette stiffened immediately, her cheeks still touched with heat as she unconsciously stepped in front of Brendon shielding him from view. It was...such an unconscious gesture, but one she recognized a man would do for his mate. "Chop chop, unless you both want to miss out on the event. I heard they're giving detentions out on that very day to misbehaving misfits." He was half teasing them, a smile playing on his mouth as he stepped aside and clearly had every intention to walk them to class. It wasn't ideal, but she knew it was for the best. "W-We’re going…,” Brendon was quick to reply because the event was important to him. Her gaze lingered on the glowering boy for a time and then to his arm... wanting to connect their hands and cradle him close to her body. She wanted that heat back...that touch. But what had happened was still raw inside of her. Even though the misunderstanding had been unveiled Josuette...she still needed a bit of time. Her hand bawled into a fist, and she felt moody with her own failure to take his hand. However with the teacher urging them along, she had no time to dwell on her decision.

PATHWAY [attr="class","brenpost"]However, their time was interrupted regardless, when a teacher appeared, looking just as surprised to see them as they were to see him. “Oh my, what do we have here? Two stragglers on a rendezvous? No, no, this won’t do—off to class with you both.”
The teacher looked young, and was someone Brendon hadn’t seen before, but he was more distracted by the fact that the man was implying they’d been secretly meeting f-for… some romantic reason. Suddenly, his heart skipped a beat, heat creeping into his cheeks.
Josuette stepped forward to address the teacher, but he insisted now wasn’t time for conversation. If they didn’t get to class now, they could find themselves in detention during the upcoming event.
“W-We’re going…,” Brendon grumbled, his brows drawing together in quiet frustration. To his annoyance, the teacher insisted on escorting them back to class. Brendon’s frown deepened, and when he cast his amber gaze to Josuette, he noticed she seemed lost in thought.
At least the misunderstanding between them had been cleared up. They could… possibly text during their remaining classes until lunch. As promised, the teacher escorted them all the way to their English class.
