Pitchers: @name, @name, @name, @name
● One of the nine that touches the ball the most. Usually can throw the ball hard and have different spin on the ball to make it curve, making it hard for batters to hit. Usually a team has four or five pitchers as only one can be on the field at a time.
Catcher: Jonathan Darby
●The catcher’s most essential job is to catch pitches. This player, decked out in protective padding and a mask, crouches behind home plate in front of the umpire. They are also called the generals of the field as they mostly run the defense along with calling the pitches for the pitcher.
Firstbase: @name
●The first baseman, naturally, stands near first base. covers for ground balls to any other infield position to catch to get the runner out. Typically not the most athletic. But make up for it in strength
Secondbase: @name
●Unlike the first and third basemen, who stand right next to the bases they’re assigned, second basemen usually stand in the area between first and second base. Typically an all around player. Athletic and strong.
Shortstop: Conor McCluskey
●The shortstop’s usual position is between second and third base. They are usually the most skilled defensive player on the field because of the long throws and how much field they have to cover. Usually some of the best players both defensively and offensively cause of their speed.
Thirdbase: @name
●Third base is known as the “hot corner,” because balls come at the third baseman fast and hard. Usually decent at defense considering their position is called the hot corner. But also one of the best hitters on the team.
Centerfield: @name
●Center fielders have a huge amount of ground to cover, so they’re often fast players, and they’re generally skilled at catching, mostly cause of how much ground they have to cover, more than the two other outfielders. Very fast, typically the fastest player on the team.
Rightfield: @name
●The right fielder stands in right field — in the grass area of the outfield between the right-field foul line and the center of the outfield. The throw from deep right field to third base is one of the longest possible tosses in baseball, so right fielders traditionally have strong throwing arms.
Leftfield: @name
●Left fielders patrol the area of the outfield from the left-field foul line to the center of the outfield, between second and third base. Their job is similar to that of the other outfielders — run after fly balls and ground balls hit into their area. Generally another good hitter.
