Day shifts regularly ticked by quietly. Daylight hours meant less thoroughness in the evenings for things hidden in the dark. Unfortunately, it led to Aramis finding the vast majority of his day spent inside the security booth next to the main gate. Regardless, the monotony of a day shift was an improvement from the night one. Coffee-dominated evenings where he wandered the grounds, flashlight in hand and cold embracing his face were tiring. The sleep schedule adjustments managed to accomplish it singlehandedly and constant pick-me-ups accomplished little to happily maintain him.

From the booth, Aramis could see the deer statue that displayed Panacea Academy. A pen was tapped against the desk of the booth, Aramis' eyes straying every few moments. Silence surrounded Aramis, the hum of rustling bushes and trees, the occasional chirping of birds and regular sounds of nature accompanied by the hum of an engine- Immediately, the security guard's body stiffened, back straightening and eyes flitting about. From where Aramis sat, he could see what appeared to be a motorcycle approaching the gate. A brow lifted as Aramis straightened his back and watched the approach.

A parent perhaps? Maybe a substitute who was covering an afternoon class? Nobody had mentioned anything to the security guard about somebody coming in, however, it would not be the first time. The green-haired security guard settled himself into his chair, straightening his back and becoming attentive. He waited until the individual approached the security booth.

"Good afternoon, what bri-" Aramis began, pausing when he glanced up. "Oh, hey Koda... What brings you to the academy?"

The man remembered Koda from back when he still lived in Wisteria. From what he recalled, the dark-haired man was notorious for his detention record. There was little Aramis genuinely knew about the man. They were in different grades and the security guard was merely aware of him from the many rumours he heard... Most primarily painted the older teen as a "high school villain" as some would say. Though children were overdramatic and in hormone-filled high school, teenagers proved to be stupid, petty and all-around mean at times... Undoubtedly, people changed drastically from those days, and Aramis was under the impression that he was prepared to handle the situation.

Gosh it was really was too nice of a day not to take the bike out for a ride. The cool wind blowing against his face as he swerved around corners and cars heading towards his old school. As he needed to see a certain someone. Mostly just to ask what they were doing later that day she stopped responding to his texts.
So in his dumbass mind, barging into Estelle Hisakawa classroom was the best option. Mostly cause he had came up with a new song. But needed to work on the lyrics. so who better to ask than an ex idol? After all she usually did help him when it came to lyrics that flowed. He would usually come up with the main message of the lyrics and feeling. She just helped with putting words that flowed together nicely. Like come on, he has a great cheat sheet on making music with her. Can't blame him.
He pulled up to the gate as he stopped his bike right at the check point. As he looked over just expecting them to let him in as he does come around every now and again to let the music department take from his guitars when he buys a new one. Which was quite often. When he heard a voice he didn't quite remember. He looked over through his sunglasses to a green haired man.
"Just stopping by to see Elle for like a second." he said as he leaned against his handlebars. As he just looked at the man. His aura already annoyed him. Just felt like he was too nice for his own good. He could be an ass but like the way his uniform was so neat, his hair tucked into that cap. He just seemed too...perfect.
As he just smiled for a second, as before the man could answer. "So watermelon, I haven't seen you here before. You new?" he added as be just moved his foot to throw down the kick stand so he didn't have to balance his bike. The man probably would have noticed that Koda is neither wearing a jacket or helmet on his bike. The only protection he has was his sunglasses. As he was just wearing a long sleeve shirt rolled up 3/4 exposing his forearm tattoos. Along with the tattoo around his neck.

God, Koda's not wrong. He is a fool that is too nice. XD

Golden eyes flitted about Koda's appearance, taking in everything about the man. With tattoo-covered skin and dark eyes, he was someone people would stereotypically point out as 'the bad guy'. However, working in the RCMP for several years, Aramis knew plenty of people of varying physical appearances who were good and bad. Pretty faces could be equally toxic as those who looked tough. There was no concrete appearance of a criminal, rather, there were endless shades of it. Thus, the security guard favoured him with a broad without a second thought. His job was to help people and process visitors to the school.

Momentarily, the use of the nickname threw Aramis off. Quickly, the security guard glanced down at the staff registry first, knowing it was the shorter of the lists... The student list was more extensive and harder to search through with what could be a nickname or first name. After a pause, Aramis nodded to himself and smiled. Though, before he could answer, the man threw him off with a question. The security guard blinked a few times before glancing up at Koda. Watermelon? He understood the joke, but there were limited instances where people said anything of insult at the booth.

"Uh, yeah. Pretty new. Came back to town not too long ago and started here," Aramis explained, smile refreshing after the brief confusion.

Afterwards, his eyes returned to the staff listing for a moment, re-verifying the information he was looking for. Once satisfied, his eyes returned to Koda.

"Estelle Hisakawa or?" He asked, attempting to verify the identity. "I can send in a request to the office. What is the reason you need to see her?"

Reasons were important and Aramis needed to pass on all relevant information before the office could make the request. A lot of verifying happened before a visitor could be allowed in. Dealing with the children of the important and wealthy resulted in stricter measures.

Koda just looked the man as he just blinked at his little jab. Was it a jab though? I mean the man has green hair. Like super green too. He has had to have heard worse right? As the smile returned to the man face. Koda liked it even more. He liked when people tried to put up a front in front of him. Just means breaking it would be all the more fun.
"Relax with contacting the office. I barge in often." he shrugged. "I get yelled at constantly by the principal for it too. So if a green leaf wants to add to the yelling be by guest," he added as he tilted his head to the side as cracks could be heard from his neck.
"Or are you just one of those, that the rules come first and follow them to a T." he looked at the man up and down. "Yea you defiantly are. Too innocent and proper looking to seem like you have any fun." as he just looked at him one more time before looking over at the school.
"But you are welcome to try and stop me from just driving in." Koda lastly said as he just reaved his bike making an obnoxious noise. One that was loud for him and Aramis both. Just to see if this man's facade of being too nice cracks.
Plus Koda totally ignored him when he said he got back into town and that he was here to see Estelle. As Aramis could probably tell that Koda was just exuding fuck around and find out vibe. If one thing was true about all the old rumors of Koda. It was that he did not listen to anyone.

Pushing forward after insults occasionally caused the verbal assailant to lose steam. Nonetheless, it always surprised Aramis when people possessed the gull to try derogatory comments. Authority figures were polarizing, but some people attempted to avoid causing trouble, lest they land deeper into it. Though, at the sheer mention of relaxing with informing the office, Aramis lifted a confused brow. According to the employee handbook, the regular protocol consisted of contacting the office and going through the formal arrangements. Should not everyone be refusing this man entry until more information was gathered?

The better, almost nerve-wracking question became who was just letting Koda in? The security breach was minor, but years wrapped up in police incompetence and corruption made his stomach flip wildly. Yet, Aramis maintained a mask regarding those unsavoury memories, especially given there was a situation to handle. Alas, a slight pang of nerves surfaced in a clenched jaw and solid eyes staring at Koda in slight surprise and concern. He could feel the pressure pushing down on his shoulders, tight with nails baring into the skin as he processed the situation.

Then the man continued with his barrage of backhanded comments. Oddly, though, Aramis could not argue against Koda's words in some facets. He followed the rules down to the letter when and where possible... Was that not important? Without rules, people slipped into chaos after all... Only for Koda to mention driving through the gate. Eyes widened as the security guard stood in the booth. The roar of the engine made him feel rushed.

"Hey! Wait a minute!" He shouted from the booth. "You do realize I'm not trying to... jerk you around, right? I'm doing my job, can't you cut some slack? Doing things right doesn't even take that long! Not to mention, they will make you pay for damages and I will be forced to call the police."

Was it a threat? Technically, but Aramis wanted to avoid getting Koda into any trouble. He hoped the truth would smooth things over and would make the man want to avoid trouble. The security guard bit back an annoyed sigh. These were the types Aramis always struggled with back in his RCMP days. They wanted to poke away at people, but giving them purchase? Well, you would provide them a gift wrapped sense of victory for breaking down.

"all right Applejacks relax that butt of yours will ya." he scoffed as he just looked at him and kept eye contact the entire time as he swung his leg over the bike. As he stood there before taking a step up to the booth. The many times he has snuck in from his days going here, he knew which button it was to activate the gate.
Being now so close to him seeing him up close made Koda even more giddy to try and break his facade. He took care of himself that was for sure. Probably did some martial arts or some shit. As seeing him sitting down didn't do that man justice. He was toned even if his stature didn't indicate it. But Koda was also not afraid of anyone. Even if that got his ass kicked a lot. But it usually worked for the most part to make people back down. Just front and most people back off unless they bat shit crazy. But Koda wasn't a slouch either. He was around the same height and build. The tattoos and piercings definitely aided him looking the part, that was for sure.
As it looked like he was fronting but then he just leaned on the edge of the window and looked at the man.
"Y'know for you sporting the hair of a granny smith apple. You aint bad looking. Just like get a little more raggedy looking and you might pick up a lot of chicks." he was bullshitting out of his ass. Plus it was probably getting to Aramis a bit that not once did Koda use his name. Just little tiny barbs at him. But he hoped it was enough as his hand and started to slowly slip into the window to press the very visible button for the gate.
Now would Koda really go to this extent of possibly getting arrested? Wouldn't put it past him that is for sure. But he was just doing this to fuck with the new guy. He had to right? Especially since he was the type Koda loved to screw with the most. So it was a win-win in his book.

The security guard was genuinely trying his best to remain courteous. Levelling with someone occasionally improved communications and created an understanding between people... Unfortunately, Koda wanted to hear nothing about his attempts to better the communication efforts... The roaring rev of the motorcycle drowned out Aramis' voice... The green-haired guard's face dropped a little as the motor thundered before finally growing quiet. These were the types of people individuals in authority inevitably had the most trouble handling... They were near-impossible to level with and attempted to constantly worsen matters.

An ease settled in Aramis when Koda finally shut off the engine. The relief was minor as Koda approached the booth and provided another... nickname if Aramis could even call it that. Regardless of the dark-haired man's words, the security guard found himself remaining tense as he waited for the interaction to proceed. Nonetheless, Aramis maintained a mask, worrying that a single break in it would provide the rebel more to pick away at. The closeness that arrived from Koda approaching him prompted Aramis to straighten his back, standing at full height as opposed to leaning over.

Before Aramis could continue to start the process of contacting the office, the man threw him off. Wh-what did Koda just say? The green-haired security guard's cheeks flushed a little as confusion entered his eyes. What did girls have to do with this?!

"Um... Does that matter right now?" Aramis said, turning to the computer. "Anyways, I will send the request to the office."

Unintentionally, a sigh breached Aramis' lips as he settled a little. The actions and words of Koda frazzled him, thus, as he stood and typed into the computer, he failed to notice the slinking hand... until the gate beeped. The security guard stiffened, his eyes flitting back to Koda who clicked the entrance button. The guard's eyes widened as he quickly clicked the closing button with a bit of panic.

"H-hey! Knock it off!" He shouted out. "I can't send an entrance request if you keep messing with me!"

The stress began becoming more evident as Aramis reversed the gate's opening, clicking the closing button and holding it. The sensors would close once it verified nobody was in peril from the gates closing. The strain of the situation showed on the green-haired man's face with the present frown along with the common traits of stress building from the pressure of handling Koda.

Ah it was finally starting. Took a tiny bit more effort than usual. But the cracks were showing. Man would he love for one more push just to totally make him loose his shit. But Koda decided against it. As he didn't need the cops called. Or even his good repour with the school destroyed. As sometimes they would pay for his music equipment whenever he was done with guitars or something.
He stayed leaning over the window and he just looked up at the man. Koda just couldn't help but laugh. As he raised a hand to the man and patted his cheek in a very demeaning way. "Relax Jolly Rancher" as he put his hands up as a sign of giving up. "Just had to fuck with you and the moss growing on your hair." he laughed as he walked back to his bike as he turned the back back on before kick starting it.
The bike coming back to life with a low rumble. "Don't take me seriously ever alright. Just have fun with it." he shrugged as he motioned his hand in a phone like manner to make the call. "But if you ever want to let loose just come see me at the Blackdog. We will have some fun. And maybe some girl will actually like that neon green hair..." he totally lied through his teeth at the last part. He didn't think anyone could like that hair. But that was just Koda. Someone probably would. As he didn't say a single word while the man hopefully made the call to the office to let him in. Unless he was just faking it? Nah seeing him get all flustered over rules? Nah, No way he would just fake it.

Frustrated by the nonsensical actions of the man, Aramis found himself in a precarious situation. Maintaining composure when under stress on account of another's actions always made the work harder. The gate's unexpected opening was merely another factor of stress to a job that required the utmost scrutiny. Observation skills were required in some aspects... and the door opening, even if temporary, made Aramis feel a bit embarrassed. When the gate closed back together, a long exhale of relief drifted through Aramis' lips... but Koda's words did not help the situation.

It started with a laugh... Was everything that just happened a joke?! There was nothing else it could potentially be in the eyes of Koda. The only benefits received from repeatedly messing with a security officer were consequences... unless trouble amused you. A tired frown breached Aramis' face as the dark-haired man talked. The pat on his cheek only prompted the green-haired man to pull away, quickly and suddenly. The manner Koda talked about the situation made Aramis release an annoyed sigh,

"I would still prefer you didn't do that... I'm trying to do my job," he murmured, voice quiet.

There was little point in arguing with Koda... That was something Aramis learned extremely fast. Not to take anything seriously... The notion prompted an eye roll as Aramis settled himself back down, typing at the computer. The green-haired security guard tensed at the bar name and notion of 'picking up girls'. Was that how he was supposed to declare his worth here? Drinks and women? The notion baffled him, and being bisexual only added to the complete oddity.

"I think I'm good... Besides, I don't drink," Aramis answered, his fingers typing at the keys.

Once the entry request was completed, Aramis sent it off. It would, unfortunately, be a few minutes before he received an answer... Which was somehow worse. Part of the security guard wished he could have sent it beforehand... That Koda cooperated a little to avoid the mass frustration that left him.

"It will be a few minutes," Aramis called from the booth.

The professionalism only increased after the frustration, the perceived failure still bothering him. To ease himself and his heated face, the green-haired man took a sip of cool water. The action was among the few soothing things Aramis could accomplish to relax himself after the stress.
