The brought-out phone to take a series of pictures made Warren smile at his friend. Was it sweet? Maybe funny to watch someone successfully scoop and carry Dunkin'? The defeated howl from the hybrid was a funny relief from Warren. An amused chuckle at the pathetic little sound that left the massive creature scooped into his arms. Once reassured, the large man carefully released Dunkin' from his arms. The artificial arm was steadily removed, taking extra care to avoid pinches or caught fur. The brunette nodded to himself with a broad smile across his bearded face. The genuine arm reached out and rubbed the hybrid's head.

Fingers caught into warm fur, enjoying the softness. The large canine appeared to need some comfort after his abrupt loss.

"Sorry, buddy," Warren said with a chuckle. "You have to go home."

The brunette straightened his back, giving Willow the room to secure the harness to the service animal. Curious eyes watched Willow secure the harness, still intrigued by the straps. Once finished, Warren found himself smiling and mentally putting together how the harness was secured. At the thanks, however, Warren gave a dismissive wave and another chuckle. The librarian owed him nothing. He successfully managed to scoop up the hybrid and assist him. Another defeated howl made the brunette

"Don't worry about it. I was strong enough to pick him up, so why not?!" A thundering laugh escaped Warren. "I should thank you instead. Means more exercise for me. Maybe I'll be able to lift more boards or sheets now."

A light-hearted laugh punctuated the words, making it clear he believed it was a joke. He took the opportunity to spend time with Willow and had the means to help. Thus, there was no harm in lending a hand.

Once the laughter concluded, Warren asked a question. "Ready to head out, Willow?"

He strode toward the sidewalk, standing beside it and glancing back at the white-haired man with a question in his golden eyes. There was a gentleness to the bright hues as he idly remained beside the sidewalk. He additionally wanted to avoid out-pacing his friend even if the assumed walk back was short.

Out of habit, Willow patted to make sure his phone was still within his pocket. It was and the urge to take it out and show Warren the little pictures came to mind. However, he felt it awkward to do so and let his hand fall away and grasp the bar of the harness. The smile he wore never once fell away as he gazed down at Dunkin'. The wolf just sat there as if the past few moments had been forgotten. Happily accepting all the head rubs he could get and make a happy little sound as he panted. "Yeah, it is time for that." Willow sounded a bit sad at the notion, which could easily be mistaken as faux sadness for Dunkin' and the park. Really though, it was for himself as this now meant his surprise with Warren would come to a close. At least, for today. He would see him at work but seeing him outside of work was different... His linger thoughts came to end as Warren spoke once more. Willow had to snap himself to attention to catch the words that Warren had been saying. He had missed a small portion of it but luckily was able to tune back into them. 'Maybe you could lift me with those strong arms and --' HELLO? Where was THAT thought coming from? Oh no....no... His face turned a slight shade of pink from his own thoughts. To cover it, he laughed softly as if agreeing with the taller man who would not be purvey to his thoughts just then! "Mhm! Plenty of exercise." Oh god, why did that sound SO MUCH WORSE OUTLOUD?! He was so thankful Warren had not a clue of what was going on in his mind right then. Willow didn't follow immediately after. His free hand came to fiddle with the lose locks around his neck as he watched Warren take the lead. It wasn't until Warren turned to look at him so softly did Willow finally start walking once again, glancing downwards at Dunkin' in order to hide the hue that made its way known on his skin. He really needed to stop that. Rubbing at a cheek, he came up beside Warren and matched his pace. "So, you going back to, ah, um, working on your projects when you get back?" He asked softly, trying to keep the conversation going just a bit longer before they would have to eventually part ways. |

A soft chuckle escaped Warren upon noticing the polarizing change in attitude accomplished by the hybrid of a canine. Despite the clear displeasure shown when the giant man picked him up and carried him out of the park, Dunkin' was seemingly fine. A content service animal happily stationed beside his owner. However, the sadness in Willow's voice brought a sweetness to the scene Warren was glad he could witness. An empathetic show of emotions between human and animal brought a sweet, gentle smile across the brunette's lips arms crossed and golden eyes observed.

How could he not appreciate this little moment between owner and canine? The abrupt shade of pink that touched Warren's cheeks caused a soft 'oh' as he glanced down the sidewalk. Had he embarrassed his librarian friend? Maybe his connection with Dunkin' and the little pang of sorrow was embarrassing? The awkward response to his little joke prompted a gentle shrug of his shoulders. Maybe... allowing Willow to move past his words was for the best. Thus the shrug was quickly followed by a quiet nod as Warren remained quietly by the sidewalk, waiting for his friend to join him.

Once joined, he favoured Willow with a broad, cheerful grin stretching across his face. The man began moving, steps gradual and cautious on account of his superior height compared to the white-haired man. The mention of projects prompted a sigh followed by a chuckle.

"Yeah, I should. I have a few things to make for Penny, should start on part two of my armour and maybe, if things go too well, start planning the wood panels for the table I showed you," Warren answered, arms reaching up to stretch. "Always sooo much to do."

The thought of the extensive work plans he had over the next few weeks made his body desire further movement. The stiffness from remaining in a steady position for extensive periods always caused that reaction. However, the work never bothered Warren given his adoration for the hobbies. They became precious pieces of his life and being because of his grandfather's favoured hobbies and subsequent teachings. Craftsmanship was something important to Warren and something he instilled in Penny.

He simply couldn't help the hand that played with his hair. It gathered the locks around one finger and twisted repeatedly. It didn't matter that the hair was probably cutting off the circulation to his finger. If he kept tugging and twirling then his brain would remain working. Keep himself grounded and stop embarrassing himself. Yet, it didn't keep himself from blushing as he walked along side the giant. His eyes decided it was best if he kept his gaze on the sidewalk and less on the man next too him. If he could do that, then maybe he would act normal again and have less...funny thoughts about his fellow staff member. Like how he wished he could actually hear the man's steps properly. How heavy were they? Did they scrap across the cement as he walked or did they fully lift and glide over without much of a sound? Did his arm make a particular sound or clink when the fingers moved? Even though he had his hearing aids on, most of the sounds he wanted to hear, he could not. Not unless he has focusing in on them. Amber orbs finally pulled away from the cement to come and rest on Warren for a split second. Only distracted for a moment when a car drove past. Hn, what other things did Warren do that he couldn't hear? "Oh." The words came out automatically as he tried to channel back into the conversation. Having noticed he had somehow lost focus. How embarrassing! "Heh, sounds like you do have a lot to do. Hmm, I just have to water my plants when I get back." Right, keep focus on the conversation, stop zoning out on other things. "You know, you should come over sometime and, ah..."
Ah, ah, ah WHAT? What was he even trying to convey? He didn't know but the words just kept coming out before he could even think them through! "...maybe have lunch? I can show you my plants. They aren't as interesting as your armor or table, but they are pretty."
'And your pretty desperate sounding..." He thought to himself with an inner moan. 'You don't even know if he likes men and you are asking him to have lunch with you, AT HOME!' |

Golden eyes curiously observed their surroundings. The coolness of autumn was a comfort after the heat of welding was a refreshing sensation welcomed by Warren. The brunette cooled during the spontaneous showcase of his well-organized workshop and a few of the noticeable creations, but walking in nature broke up the monotony. The rustling leaves scattered by a gentle breeze, the rhythmic steps of their feet and the people around them. The crunch of wheels rolling over asphalt caught his attention. His gaze shifted, a grin touching his face as the vehicle rolled by without hesitation.

The soft 'oh' brought attention back to his companion. The silence was not unwelcomed, rather, it was comfortable. There was something about Willow that allowed for a momentary silence to become pleasurable. The familiar Warren Gray smile touched the metalworking teacher's face.

"Oh, please! I'm sure you put a lot of work into maintaining them," Warren complimented in return. "Taking care of living things takes time and effort of its own after all."

As they proceeded down the sidewalk, lingering words escaped his white-haired friend's words. His golden eyes remained on Willow as he mentioned the possibility of lunch together and checking out Willow's plants. The image painted in Warren's mind was interesting. A tour of plants followed by a nice lunch... it was pleasant and warm.

"I would love to, Will!" Warren bellowed out happily. "It sounds like a wonderful time! It sounds interesting to me at least!"

The brunette had developed a minute interest in plants and gardening. Partially from hiking with his daughter, but additionally, Penny's interest in the activity. As her father, Warren began reading and developing an interest in the topic to make discussion between himself and his daughter easier... He wanted the young girl to feel important and he wanted to show intrigue in topics she did.

Even though Dunkin' was guiding him along safely, the librarian had the urge to reach out and take a hold of Warrens arm. He hadn't a clue why the urge was there but perhaps it was because the giant felt safe. Almost inviting to he touched even for a moment. Willow even considered following through it with his free hand but stopped himself. If he touched him, Warren would take notice. It would be nothing but awkwardness and he wasn't sure if he could even explain himself. His gaze traveled to the flesh and blood hand and sighed inwardly. No, it was better not to make the walk awkward. So focused on his own thoughts of should he - shouldn't he, that he almost missed Warrens words. Startled out of his thoughts his orbs landed right on Warren's serene expression only to turn explosive as he looked at him so cheerfully. He could feel his cheeks burning almost instantly as he looked away. "Oh, ah, it's nothing, really. Just...I like plants a lot." He answered with a light mumble unsure of what to say now that his heart was racing. Warren declared his plants would be lovely and agreed to come over. Warren was going to come by. Warren said it sounded interested. Did that mean he might be interested in other things or just coming for lunch. Oh, how his mind ran a mile a minute with that as he equipped a smile on as fast as he could. His hand finally came out to rest on Warren's bicep before he could even stop himself. "R-really? That's great! Ah, just let me know what day works best for you and I can make us lunch!" He sounded so happy even as he was dying on the inside and wondering what the heck he was getting himself into! |

Golden eyes curiously wandered their surroundings as Warren walked alongside his dog-guided friend. There was a calmness to the surrounding world that he could appreciate. However, personally, Warren enjoyed the wonders of hiking where nature took over. Wonder arrived with watching animals settle in their world. Occasionally, his gaze returned to Willow, favouring his friend and Dunkin' with a warm, content smile. The dismissal of his compliment immediately brought those golden eyes back, smile dropping.

Gradually, the familiar surroundings of his neighbourhood and the outline of Warren's home drifted into view. A gentle hand touched his bicep at his agreement, prompting golden eyes to return to Willow. There was a pleasantry to the soft fingers of the white-haired librarian touching his bicep. Something comforting and welcoming. The bubbling excitement from his agreement made Warren give a warm smile.

"Of course. Sounds like you are excited to show me, so it will be a good time," Warren answered with a soft chuckle.

As they reached the front of the home, Warren paused at the mailbox he initially discovered Willow. A sigh escaped the large man as he ceased movement... Admittedly, he enjoyed the dog park walk and spending time with the librarian.

"Guess this is a cue to return to work, eh?" Warren chuckled, a hand sitting on the mailbox. "Have a safe walk home, okay? Oh! And just text me if something happens."

A smile broadly stretched across Warren's face as, despite his words, the large man waved bye. He would remain beside the mailbox until he was assured Willow was safe when beyond his sight.

Willow didn't mind Warren's praises and even though they turned his face quite red, he loved listening to them, to him. He let Warren carry the conversation as he happily walked next to him. His face still so red that he only hoped his hair could keep it hidden. His mind was far to busy on the matters of Warren coming over to worry about the conversation over plants. What should he make? When would he be coming by? Dear god, how much fur was there floating around? He was going to have to get to cleaning, that much was for sure! The sudden stop caught his attention, he had only noticed this because his hand was still attached to Warren's arm. He had never retracted it and even now it still remained in place. Realizing this, he pulled away and did his best to push down - whatever this was that he felt. Taking note of the mailbox, Willow realized they had made it back to Warren's home, far to soon in his opinion. "Ah, yeah I guess so..." He said with a small laugh. "Mhm!" He reassured the man he would text him if anything happens but still remained in place. A moment, later, he started to leave and stopped two steps away. "Ah, text me what you decide on a day on when you want to come over, um - okay?" Yes that seemed like the proper thing to say before departing from the other. "Thanks for coming with us to the dog park. It was fun." |

The hand lingering on his bicep went unnoticed, as though the sensation was natural. Warren felt comfortable as he interacted with Willow, the large man finding time spent with the librarian generally enjoyable. A warmth that draped over him as they conversed together... The brunette wished for more of these opportunities. The hand went unnoticed until Willow realized and retracted it... leaving behind a slight longing for its return. Briefly, his golden eyes glanced down at the spot before returning to Willow, but Warren merely favoured him with a gentle smile tickling his lips.

The conclusion of their conversation arrived, and Warren wished there was more time despite the plans... However, the brunette remained quiet as he nodded at Willow, a noticeable enthusiasm in the action.
