The shouting and hollering of his ma seemed to be looming over his head, as bandaged fingertips clawed at the folio before him as he ran and ran.[break][break]  [break][break] He thought they were chasing him, that at any moment strong hands would grab his arm yanking him back. The eight year old boy kept at it until he couldn't breathe. But even then he released his frustrations grabbing the nearest stick as he swung at the thick stalks and watched them buckle and bend. Until he collapsed onto the cool brown soil.[break][break] Heaving he began to break the stick next until everything around him laid in ruins. Only then did he feel calmer. Messy dirty blonde hair stuck to his forehead, fingerprint bruising along his arms and a dark bruise beneath his eye.[break][break] But even in all his tiny body's agony he rose and kept walking. He hated them, his stupid piece of shit father. Why the hell was she with him? He was such an asshole! Nicolas hissed a breath of annoyance and he had no damn idea how long he walked until he reached a clearing of some huge ass building.[break][break] Cranking his head upward he narrowed his gaze, mouth gaping open at the giant house. Someone lived here? What were they rich? Rich snobs. He grinned, clearly for immature reasons. But he didn't expect to see some other girl hanging in the area. She looked like crap.[break][break]

[attr="class","alida-past"]Little seven-year-old Alida had found a home in her brother’s treehouse. It was her special hideaway. She had taken it away from Gael because he never wanted to play with her. It was easy to take it, really, since he was a bit of a baby and didn’t like her much. She didn’t really get why. She loved the treehouse because it was a place where she could hide away from everyone else. No one could bother her here—well, because no one even knew where she was! She hadn’t told a soul about her visits to the treehouse, and so everyone thought she had disappeared. It was kind of funny and made her giggle a lot when she thought about it. “Whoa!,” Alida’s small voice piqued as she spotted something odd in the distance. Tiny hands gripped the edge of the window, her head popping up to peek out at the big wheatfield just beyond the backyard. She didn’t really know what was going on, but there was a little person swinging a stick and stomping on all the wheat. It was fascinating to her; she could see him yelling and getting all worked up. It reminded her of the times she got really mad, when she smashed things and screamed until her throat hurt. When she saw him marching his way toward her backyard, Alida scrambled out to rush down the ladder. She dashed across the lawn, half afraid of getting caught by Rose, until she reached the wall where that boy was gaping with his mouth wide open. Quick as a flash, she slipped into the shadows between the house and the bushes, a big, curious smile on her face. “Hey girl. What ya doin’ here?” He called to her, which only made her smile even bigger.

Cat having his tongue was an understatement, this girl looked like a human trash bag. [break][break] "You look messy!" She announced with energy he couldn't even begin to copy. He wasn't even sure what he was looking for, a parent, a hole this blondie crawled out of?! "Ugh," he openly grumbled pushing her hand away, but before he could even get another word out she was giving him more trouble. Making fun of his hair and then grabbing it just like had her shirt![break][break] "Ow," he complained and in turn grabbed her hair pulling it just as hard as her. "Let go!" he let go of her hair as quickly as he unconsciously grabbed it. He didn't want to be like his stupid step-father, hurting girls, even if they started it.[break][break] Yanking his head from her grasp even if it pulled some strands from him he frowned at her. "Stop moving all around, take off your stupid shirt," he ordered and didn't hesitate to pull it from her. Before she could complain he was taking his own off and shoving his much nicer t-shirt over her head. But he wasn’t laughing with her. He just kept whining until he managed to pull his hair free from her grip. “Stop moving all around, take off your stupid shirt.” He bossed her around, his hands getting all grabby as he yanked her only shirt right over her head! Now it was Alida’s turn to gasp and whine like a baby. “I’m not—,” She started to protest, but her words got cut off when he shoved his own shirt over her head instead. It was a gray t-shirt with a big car picture splashed across the front. Feeling mad, she slapped his arm away and bared her teeth at him, like some kind of animal. “Don’t touch me anymore or I’ll step on your feet!” She warned, stomping her foot right on top of his shoe for emphasis.
