Kitt is a late arrival for the semester, so there's a lot of catching up they need to do before they're on the same level as their peers. They'll definitely be working hard to do so, but a lot of their attention is also caught on the idea of finally making friends and getting the full School Experience(tm). Seeking out tutors, studying in public areas, tentatively exploring the campus--there are a lot of vague ideas I have for open threads I'd like to throw out there, but I also wanted to put together this list of more concrete ideas I either came up with myself or saw suggested on the board & absolutely loved, hah.
[break][break]
I am down for pretty much anything in regards to Kitt--friends, bullies, rivals, potential datemates though I have no idea how that last one will work out, Kitt's headspace concerning the subject is quite nebulous so it'd probably be a slowburn sort of thing. In most cases, Kitt is going to do their best to make friends--but I think it'd be really interesting for them to run into mean people.

Family Rivalry / Papa Gerald took one look at the list of available roommates and pointed out one he absolutely wasn't okay with Kitt staying near. The name stuck out, but Kitt has no idea why their grandpa was so against it--some kind of family rivalry, maybe? Definitely the sort to try and meet this person to see what that's all about, though, and they could either continue the feud or defy the odds & form a friendship.
[break][break]
Unlikely Mentor / suggested by Áine. A more rebellious or confident student takes Kitt under their wing, teaching them how to stand up for themselves in social situations. Kitt's a bit of an awkward duckling, and very much like a duckling they'll probably want to follow this person around a bit even after they get their feet under them.
[break][break]
Childhood Friend / Someone who knew them from elementary school, before their parents divorced and the cause of their health issues were discovered, and before they were able to freely present as nonbinary. Perhaps an awkward restart to what was once a close friendship, or they didn't get along before but find that time has brought some common ground.
[break][break]
Lunch Buddies / From day one, despite the wide variety of options available in Oakwood Hall, Kitt has some things on their tray that they can't eat without being sick. Since they do get supplementary snacks from their grandparents, they figure the easiest way to make a friend is to share these extras with folks around them. Kitt prefers eating in the Hall to going off-campus, but they will join friends for such outings occasionally.
[break][break]
Free Players / Kitt has played an MMORPG called Free since they were really young, and they have merchandise to show for it--shirts with the game's logo, stickers on their laptop/tablet/notebooks, a couple different keychains, etc. If anyone else recognizes the game or plays it, they will find Kitt a very enthusiastic conversation partner. Free game description can be found on Kitt's app, or here: [break][break]

Health Scare by the Stables / suggested by Áine. While attempting dressage practice, Kitt has a dizzy spell and collapses. Someone needs to come in and help, though Sunshine will not be making it easy.
Dormitory: The Secret Stash / Your character accidentally stumbles upon a hidden stash of letters, photographs, or other personal items in a shared or common area of the dormitory. The items clearly belong to one of the other students, and reveal something surprising or troubling about them. When the owner realizes the stash has been found, they become frantic and confront your character, leading to a tense discussion about privacy, secrets, and trust. Not sure which side Kitt would fall on in this scenario, honestly, I can see them doing either one--stumbling across someone else's stash or leaving their own in a common area without realizing what a bad idea that is.

An Eastern historical fantasy mmorpg that touts a wide variety of skills and classes, allowing players to do anything they wish from hunting, fishing and fighting to cooking, farming and interior decoration, just to name some of the most popular options. In addition to a robust and immersive storyline and a thriving PVP community, Free boasts AI-driven NPC interactions and a relationship/reputation system that adds even further nuance and depth to the game. You can put thousands of hours into Free and still never see everything.

Thread Starters
Health Scare by the Stables / suggested by Áine. While attempting dressage practice, Kitt has a dizzy spell and collapses. Someone needs to come in and help, though Sunshine will not be making it easy.
[break][break]
Doll Clothes Workshop / suggested by Áine. Kitt sets up a small after-school workshop to teach other students how to design doll clothes. Couple threads trying to figure out the process for this and seeing if anyone would be interested in the first place, maybe.
[break][break]
[break][break]
Esthetics Assignment / Some people on campus has a distinct sense of style, and Kitt's been assigned to interview a number of them on the things that influenced those choices for class. Why long sleeves over short? Dark colors or light? Are you imitating someone you know, or did the things you like come together over the years? Did they change dramatically at any point?
[break][break]
[break][break]
Geometry Tutoring / Kitt's truly surprised how handy geometry is for creating patterns in fashion design class, especially when they have to work on a life-size scale they aren't used to. Unfortunately, Kitt is terrible with math, and they spend a decent amount of time in the library trying not to bang their head on the table too loudly. Someone please help they don't understaaaaand!

Plot Ideas from Áine
[break][break]
Bluebell Lake: Lost and Found / Both characters arrive at Bluebell Lake for different reasons—one for a quiet moment of reflection, the other to search for a missing object rumored to have been lost there. They discover an abandoned boat tied to the dock with odd markings, and when they investigate, the boat begins to drift away, leaving them stuck on the lake with only each other for company. I plan for Kitt to start exploring the campus grounds as extensively as they can, so they'd very easily fall into this scenario, and it seems so fun!
[break][break]
[break][break]
Observatory: Locked In / Both characters independently head to the observatory for different reasons—a class assignment, stargazing, or just curiosity. They find themselves locked in when the observatory’s old security system malfunctions. As they wait for someone to rescue them, they notice a faint light flashing in the distance from the top of the observatory. It could be a signal—or a warning. It is the season to be particularly spooky--would love for the other person to maybe enjoy teasing/terrorizing Kitt a little bit with possibilities for what the light means, at least at first. They'd get pretty anxious real fast, though, so maybe the other would feel guilty after.
[break][break]
[break][break]
Bluebird Trails: The Lost Trail / One character is hiking or biking on the Bluebird Trails but takes a wrong turn and gets lost. The other character, who is more familiar with the trails, comes across them and offers to help find the right path. On their way back, they could strike up a conversation about their favourite parts of the trail, or their love for the outdoors. Would especially love Kitt walking on the trails with their horse Sunshine for this, they would get absolutely turned around and go begging to the first person they saw for help.
[break][break]
[break][break]
Bluebird Trails: The Scenic Picnic / One character sets up a picnic on a scenic spot along the trails, and the other character happens to come across it while hiking or biking. Intrigued by the setup, they strike up a conversation, and the picnicker offers to share their food and company. I can see Kitt either stumbling across someone else's picnic or setting up their own, really, especially when they start becoming more familiar with the trails.
