[attr="class","infotab"] Novelist [attr="class","infotab1"] Teacher [attr="class","infotab1"] Book Enthusiast | [attr="class","plotname"] ACADEMY STAFF [attr="class","plotsub"] [attr="class","plotsubtext"]IRENE DELACROIX [attr="class","plotbg"] ABOUT Irene is the senior English teacher at Panacea Academy, and easily the most feared. She's known for her stern yet caring demeanor, and she does her best for her students. Widowed 10 years ago, and estranged from her daughter and grandchild, she has few family or friends to turn to. Surprisingly, she can get quite lonely sometimes. Irene is incredibly intelligent, and is very knowledgeable about her favorite interests. She could talk about it for hours to anyone who'd be willing to listen. She is also a published author, although she's never been a best-seller, so her work remains relatively unknown. Irene dabbles in bookbinding and ballet, she sometimes can be caught doing either in her spare time.[break][break] Her main goal every year is to find something each one of her students can connect to, and meaningfully connect them with it. However, that doesn't mean she'll put up with any shit. She's very strict with her due dates, and doesn't let anyone off the hook. She can sniff out bullshit from a mile away and isn't afraid to call anyone out on it. [break][break] FRIENDS Irene is friendly, but she doesn’t have many actual friends. Her coworkers are her coworkers, and she doesn’t make a special effort to forge true friendships with them, especially the ones who were former students of hers. It’s nice to see them succeed, of course, but it feels a little strange sometimes to share a drink with them. Still, if someone is willing to put in the work she’ll slowly open up, especially if they’re knowledgeable in her various interests. Irene can be quite talkative when it comes to things that she’s passionate about, so she’ll happily chatter so long as the other person will listen.[break][break] Her love language is gift-giving, so often her friends will receive little gifts from her, such as hand-bound journals or various things she thinks they would like. Irene is a big believer in doing small, little things for her friends, so often will drop by a needed cup of coffe or offer a helping hand. [break][break] ENEMIES Irene can be quite spiteful with people who frustrate her, and doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind. She’ll never do anything to cause her to lose face, however, but she wouldn’t be inclined to help them out in the slightest. Students who frustrate her would never be considered her enemies, because at the end of the day, she has a responsibility to teach them the best she can.[break][break] Other faculty members or adults could easily find themselves in this category if they’re not careful. She doesn’t take kindly to bullying, and has zero tolerance when it pertains to things like race, class, gender, etc. Irene is incredibly unafraid to call people out on their bullshit, and the fastest way to get on her bad side is to engage in such things.[break][break] LOVERS Anyone looking to pursue a romantic relation with Irene needs to know one thing. Her late husband is never going to be replaced, and he will always have a spot in her heart. As a result, she tends to be closed off romantically, as most people don’t seem to understand that. Irene also feels as if she’s a little old to start over completely, and she isn’t looking to get married again or anything. If anything, she’d mostly be looking for companionship, someone to slow dance to Billie Holiday with. Irene doesn’t foresee anything happening in this department, but who knows, if it happens, it happens. [break][break] PLOTS [break][break][break]A First Edition Encounter [break][break]While browsing a local bookstore, Irene spots a student or colleague carelessly handling a rare first edition. Unable to resist, she intervenes, sparking a conversation about the value of history, books, and care. from @adira Estranged Hearts [break][break]Irene overhears a student discussing their strained relationship with a parent, and it resonates deeply with her own estrangement from her daughter. She struggles between offering advice and keeping her personal life private. from @adira Detention and Bookbinding [break][break]Irene finds herself roped into supervising detention, with the very student she gave it to from her class. Needing to finish a particular bookbinding, she combines the task, causing the student's interest peeked. Does this create an unexpected bonding experience? from @adira Spare [break][break]place holder for uh if i think of smth |

[div style="width:90%;margin-left:18px;"][attr="class","tagtext"] Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
