Weekend volunteer work brought a normalcy to Aramis' life that brought a sense of hopefulness. The green-haired former RCMP officer felt horrible for abandoning the compromised precinct he originally worked for. These actions made him feel good and additionally, he enjoyed volunteering his time. People had interesting stories and animals were always delightful... Thus, Aramis found himself in the open, fenced yard with a pack of puppies bounding about. The outer section of the central plaza had an animal shelter that primarily depended upon donations and volunteer work a majority of the time.

Through the grass, various puppies bounded, rolled around, flopped down, chewed on toys and demanded attention. The cool, autumn breeze hardly bothered them as tails wagged and the little creatures yipped and barked happily. The long-haired man found himself sitting on the cold grass, waiting for another volunteer as he tugged on a rope with a feisty, little golden retriever. A chuckle escaped the man as he pulled at the toy, helping to release the pent-up energy in the gaggle of little creatures. As he tugged, golden eyes swept through the puppy playground, noticing another trot up.

A young border collie flopped down on Aramis' lap without a care in the world. Paws treaded air as the happy, little dog batted at tugging arms. The green-haired man laughed a little at the silly antics. One hand released the toy, the other maintaining grip to allow the golden retriever to tug to his heart's content. Meanwhile, the other wiggled fingers in front of the border collie, the little creature play biting the fingers. Teeth softly tickled Aramis' fingers as the creature played in his lap... However, playing with two prompted attention from the other dogs.

A weight suddenly, albeit, gently slammed into his shoulders as a pair of appeared over top. A tongue flopped out and licked his face, making a laugh escape Aramis once again.

"Hey, this is unfair," he told the puppy licking his face.

Between the licking and the little bundle of batting paws in his lap, the toy slithered out through his fingers. Once released, the golden retriever dropped the toy, panted and sauntered over to join the "attack" the volunteer helping out. The panting, golden creature jumped up, forcing an arm forward to protect the tiny bundle in his lap from being stepped on! The green-haired man wiggled, glancing around, hoping the other volunteer was around to rescue him from the puppy assault!
