 Chise was buzzing with excitement as she stood outside the dark building in front of her. She'd been DYING to visit this location...but never had the guts to do it solo. Luckily, she had her own buddy system! With some puppy dog eyes and pathetic pleading, she'd luckily suckered her roommate to come along with her!
It was eerie up close, the establishment a small abandoned farmhouse. She'd heard from some of her peers in the Paranormal Club that there've been sightings of apparitions and weird noises but...no one has gone to investigate themselves. Until now! "Wow! This place really is kinda creepy up close, huh?"The bubbly brunette would turn to her companion, Adara and have a little bit of unease mixing with her excitement but she'd come fully prepared...with just a video camera, her phone and a squirt gun of holy water. |

The autumn air was chilly, and Adara had one hand shoved into the pocket of her thick, navy padded jacket, its Red Bull Racing sponsorships and patches plastered across the fabric. Her other hand held a flashlight, and she scanned it across the property. It was DARK, especially this far out of the city. She could see the lights in the distance, but the sky here was much clearer, if not a little cloudy. They stood at the foot of this supposedly haunted house, and Adara let out a little hum.
Chise had begged her to tag along on this little ghost hunt, and Adara could never turn down a good time. She wouldn't consider herself a believer in the paranormal, she actually considered herself to be quite the skeptic; but the opportunity to mess with her friend was too good to pass up."Mm... yeah it is a little eerie..." Adara trailed off, shining her flashlight on the front porch. The house was creaky, old, and definitely spooky—but Adara's biggest fear was running into asbestos.
With a wide smile, she leaned closer to Chise. "You know... if you're too scared, we can still go home," she teased, snorting before hopping forward. "Just kiddingggg, hehe." She stepped forward confidently, the steps of the front porch creaking underneath her feet, and used the flashlight to peek in through the windows. Seemed empty, for the most part. Adara tried the front door, but it was locked. "Oh, yeah I guess that makes sense.... we're kind of trespassing" She thought, turning to shine the flashlight back on Chise.
"You got a key, boss? Otherwise-" Adara pulled her hand out of her pocket and flexed her arm, a cheeky grin on her face. "I can definitely break us in there."

The location was just as she imagined it to be, but up close Chise did feel a bit of a chill staring up at it. Was she afraid? Oh absolutely but that was exactly why she didn't come by herself. She wasn't that crazy! However she's been itching to explore somewhere with a history of paranormal activity and watching all those videos and shows online made her want to try and capture evidence!Said evidence was so she could convince Adara, her wonderfully skeptic roommate that the paranormal existed and that she could open her mind further. Granted she was already appreciative that she tagged along regardless. They were almost opposites in that regard but Chise could count on the pretty red head to have her back as it were. Now as she stared up at the dilapidated building she was hoping nothing too crazy happened. Chise gave a cute pout, blushing at the thought of going home. "What?! No way! We got this far. We're sticking it out..." She hoped.Deciding to get her mindset ready she checked her backpack that she brought and checked stock. "Extra batteries. Flashlights. I got my spare phone.. let's see..." Granted she didn't have all those fancy gadgets she saw on the shows, she was hoping they could raise money for the paranormal club to obtain them for when the club could actually venture out..with permission.Yes they were technically breaking and entering but if they were quiet enough and careful, they'd be in and out and no one would notice! At the mention of a key Chose frowned as she put her backpack back on and settled her flashlight onto Adara but low so as not to blind her. "Um...why would I have a key?" That gave them only one option. "Just..um.. don't break anything too much.. or hurt yourself!" |

At the question of why Chise would have a key, Adara paused. "Oh, yeah, I guess that'd be weird..." the girl mused. She wasn't always the sharpest tool in the toolbox. "But! Never fear, I'll get us in there." Another sharp chuckle, more creepy than cute, and she started with the window. Carefully, she tried to get her fingers underneath the frame, and tried to lift it upwards.
No luck, It was shut pretty tight.
Adara let out a hum, turning back to look at Chise, "Alright, gimme a minute, I'll go round back." She hopped down the front porch, sticking close to the side of the dilapidated building, waving her flashlight from side to side to keep an eye out for like... wolves or something. Adara reached a window towards the back that seemed cracked open, and she grinned. "Sick."
She forced the window open, shining her flashlight into the room. Seemed like the kitchen, with bottles and cans littering the floor. Some kids have definitely come here to drink or something before. "Maybe that's the source of the phenomenon? Drunk kids pranking ghost hunters?" Adara thought on it as she moved throughout the house, the wooden floors creaking and cracking underneath her. There was a lot of toppled, rustic furniture, with a very quaint feel to it. She got to the front door, and it unlocked with a loud click. Adara made it creeaaaak open slowly, standing behind the door.
She waited a few seconds before poking her head out from behind it, a shit eating grin on her face. "Alright, we're in!" Adara said, stepping back and holding the door open for Chise. "Now what? I think people come in here to party, honestly." |

When Adara tried one of the windows and found it was stuck Chise almost pouted. Never fear indeed though that Adara was braver than she as she leapt off the porch and rounded the back. This left Chise alone and she suddenly felt very small as she shined her light back on the old, abandoned farm house. It was eerie and she knew they shouldn't be here, but the excitement far outweighed the spooky feel of it.This was a first for Chise, no only technically trespassing ( if they got caught ) but going to a location actually rumored to be haunted! She buzzed with the thrill even as she was actually pretty anxious as she stood out on the porch solo, shivering in her hoodie and shorts combo. She made sure to wear clothing she could easily move in just in case things got too crazy....like seeing an apparition or having objects moving...w-what if something gives them a good scratch! 'No no, stop that! There could be nice spirits here..!'It wouldn't be too long that her wild imagination would be put on hold when the door suddenly creaked open. Chise got chills as she slowly eased her flashlight to the door, sweeping it inside as the creaking seemed much too loud and made her heart begin to pound. It wouldn't be until Adara showed her shit eating grin that Chise gave a small squeak of a shout before blushing at how easily scared she got. "T-that wasn't nice!" She'd had her squirt gun of holy water at the ready aimed right at the pranking red head. |

[attr="class","dibody"]"Oh, I got her good." The thought made Adara incredibly happy, and further spurred her intention to mess with Chise throughout the night. As Chise pointed the squirt gun at her, Adara raised her hands in the air. She put on an act of innocence, an exaggerated look of surprise on her face. "Why Chise.... what ever do you mean? I was just holding the door open for you." She said with an ugly cackle, unable to fully keep her laughter in.
"C'mon, ghost hunter," she said with a wink, turning into the house to explore it properly.
The foyer was mostly empty, with some lamps hidden in the corner, and a bookshelf sitting hal-empty and dusty. Across the way it seemed like the living room, which had some furniture still in it. There were also some stairs to the right, everything made of the creakiest wood possible. Every hint of a breeze from outside and the house would let out a creak. Even Adara found it kind of creepy.
Adara turned to Chise, "man, seems like they left in a hurry, hm?" She teased, her voice full of mock seriousness as she shone her flashlight around. "Though I think I'd ditch this place immediately too if it was haunted..." The girl started walking forward, looking around for any... signs? Honestly, Adara didn't really know what to look out for. It would be cool if they DID find something, but the girl wasn't holding out any hope for it. |

Chise's heart was pounding so loud she thought for sure that even the spirits here could hear it as she aimed her dinky little plastic water gun at Adara, her hands shaking as the brunette sported a pout and flushed cheeks at her immediate reaction. "Y-you know what you did." Huff huff! Once her heart settled she lowered the toy gun back into her hoodie pocket and stepped inside, her flash light slowly sweeping the interior. It definitely felt spooky, everything old, abandoned and just almost sad looking in a way that Chise forgot her fear and wondered who lived here before. She didn't think to do any research beforehand...perhaps she'd remember in the future. Once she got an idea in her head she got swept away to just do and not do her homework so to speak.She'd make a sound in agreement with the red head as she felt like she was stepping on every creaky spot...but then the whole place creaked that it gave her the creeps. "Mmm...I wonder how old this place is.." Murmuring softly she stepped deeper, nervous but excited all at once. This was the first time she was inside a place said to be haunted...at night...trespassing...ooooh boy she was getting the thrill of it as she smiled and turned her light back to Adara. "This definitely feels like we might get something to make you a believer. Where should we even start?" Chise would peek into side rooms, most likely a kitchen and a bathroom. |

[attr="class","dibody"]"Yeah it's gotta be like, from like.... the 1900's or something, right?" That sounded like a creepy enough time period. Anything that old was bound to have some kind of history attached to it, fictional or not. The thought sent a quick shiver up Adara's spine, but the girl quickly suppressed it. Ghosts weren't real, but maybe some crazy murders or something had happened here in the past. The thought of that geeked her out a little bit, to be in the same area as someone died in. "I don't know... I'm sure tons of people have like, kicked it at school and stuff... it's not scary..." Adara shook it off and followed closely behind Chise, doing her best to fight the urge to scare her again. One time is funny, two times in a row is annoying, and the girl was actually excited to be here, even if just to so something wild. The experience was reward enough. She'd never trespassed before, but now she definitely planned on doing it again. She grinned as Chise looked at her, and she let out a little shrug. "We'll see about that." She said with a small chuckle.
"I saw a bit of the kitchen when I was uh..." Breaking and entering? "Letting myself in. Seemed like a lot of trash and stuff in there. Maybe we could check out a bedroom? I feel like if I were a ghost I'd hang out in my room..." The girl paused, "yeah, no definitely, I'd take advantage of it to nap for like, forever." |

The place definitely had that old feel to it. Adara was probably correct in when the old farm house was originally constructed, but who knows when the last time it was properly occupied. "Yeah...I'd say you're probably right there..." Murmuring softly she scanned her cell phone's flash light through the room as she walked deeper, checking everything out that she could see. It was musty and cold making it extra eerie. Was she scared? Absolutely! However they came this far and it took some begging to get Adara to finally agree, there was no turning back now.
The girls continued to make their sweep, guessing this and that about who could be here, whether ghosties or punks hiding out drinking. Probably both Chise would wager as her foot met an empty beer can of sorts. Hmph, how disrespectful!
Sweeping her light to the kitchen she followed after the red head realizing she was being left behind. "W-wait up!" Making her way over she did a sweep and hummed softly. Something about abandoned houses depressed her. Perking up at the idea Chise snorted none too elegantly. "You would be a ghost only to sleep forever." |

"Although I wonder what kind of lap time I can put out as a ghost..." She perked up, turning to Chise with a huge grin on her face. "Hey, do you think they're like super fast? Like, sub 9-second 100 meter fast? That'd be frickin' SICK."
Her voice rose as she spoke, enthusiasm spilling over, echoing through the empty space. The sound startled her, and she stopped mid-rant, a sheepish laugh bubbling up. "Ope, sorry," she whispered, glancing around. Adara didn’t believe there were any ghosts here, but she also didn’t want some random passerby checking out strange noises coming from the house. "Although, wouldn’t that be kind of funny?"Turning back to focus, she started rummaging through the room. It might be a good idea to find like, names or something, right? Her ghost-hunting knowledge was limited to TV shows, but they always seemed to call out the name of the dead person to get a response. Her light swept over the fridge, looking for anything tacked up, then she moved to rifle through some drawers."Do you know if like, the ghost here is called anything? Maybe we can find a name... I've seen that like, supposedly makes them react, right?" |

Leave it to Adara to think of the way she'd spend her time as a ghost. Chise couldn't help but roll her eyes. "C'mon, you're saying you'd spend your time napping or doing races? What about scaring people or pulling pranks on them?" Now THAT was something Chise would do, she'd try to scare the crap out of anyone who dared to wander in her place of death...which could be what they were doing right now...Oh crap she was letting her imagination run wild.
What if the ghost's here were waiting for the right moment because they didn't want these two here? A gasp yelped out of her as Adara made more noise than intended and her heart was in her throat. Maybe she wasn't cut out for this but she was determined to get something out of this drip. "R-right...let's see..." Sweeping her flashlight about she wandered back out of the kitchen and looked around until she saw a set of stairs. "We can try to get some EVP but maybe one of the old bedrooms would be the hot spot..."
Curiosity got the better of her and she was already heading up the stairs as she muttered to herself, pulling out her phone to see if she had the right APP for it. It may not look professional but it was something since she had to save up for actual equipment. |

| [attr="class","dibody"]Man, pranking people hadn’t even crossed Adara’s mind until now. A grin spread across her face at the idea—there were so many ways to mess with people: bursting through walls, making objects fly around... The possibilities were endless.She already had plenty of pranks in mind for Chise, and a small, eerie laugh escaped her at the thought. Adara had to fight the impulse to reach out and grab her friend's shoulders.But she kept it together, for now. "Yeah, that'd make sense! Let's do it." Adara gave her a thumbs up before trailing behind. Each step of the stairs creaked and groaned beneath their feet. Just as they reached the top, a thud echoed through the space. Adara flinched and couldn't help but nervously laugh in response. She peered from behind Chise and shone her light in the direction.
"Creepy... but this house is pretty old. I'm sure there's tons of loose stuff around waiting to fall." Adara's voice trembled a little bit, but she did her best to play it cool. She had to rationalize it to make it less scary. |

With the two beginning to explore deeper into the creepy home Chise's heart was in over drive as they crept up the steps. The creaking of their steps sounded too loud to her as her kept her flashlight as steady as she could. She still felt like something would jump out at her, especially with Adara most likely plotting more ways to scare her.
Either way her thoughts got interrupted as they made it to the last step to the landing when a loud thud could be heard and Chise literally squeaked. She followed Adara's light as her friend seemed to take a guess where it had come from and realized that's where their destination would be.
"R-right...That's gotta be it." Maybe even an animal like a rat would be scuttering about. She'd prefer rats over actual ghosts...right? right?!
"W-well. I guess we'll go check it out, just to be sure." Gathering her courage she moved forward towards a room on the right, her flash light a bit unsteady but she wasn't backing out now! |
