As much as Sebastian wanted to see Mason's abs, he really wasn't too sure he wanted to compare -- he wanted Mason to be able to compare his abs with Sebatian's abs. He had some, but he was sure they were not as well defined as Mason's abs were. The idea of wrestling Mason now scared Sebastian. He was still interested in what Mason would do to him, but was now worried he would take it easy on him. Nobody wanted somebody to take it easy on him. They wanted him to go all out. Even somebody as intense as Mason, who Sebastian was pretty sure could kill him if he wanted or even by accident. But his curiosity to see Mason's stomach won out. "Sure." Sebastian said, his voice breaking a little at the end of the word. "Yeah," he said a little more sure. "That sounds good."Sebastian wasn't sure Mason sounded really sure about riding a horse. "I'm sure they'll make sure they give you a nice horse, so they won't throw you or stomp on you. " Sebastian said. "If anything, they don't want the bad publicity or the insurance troubles." Sebastian wasn't sure that would console Mason's fears, but it was probably the truth. "I'll find out if we can ride and I'll let you know."For some strange reason a scene -- well a fight really -- from a TV show entered his head. And he wondered if Mason would know how to do the move, even though it was in a show that showcased karate. "Have you ever seen a TV show entitled Cobra Kai?"Mason Sato

The last thing on Mason's mind when he made his suggestion to Sebastian, was what he looked like shirtless. In fact it hardly factored in his mind at all. Sure- he knew he had pretty much burnt off all his childhood baby fat and was start to gain muscle all over his body. Certainly he was aware that going shirtless at the beach meant that his wiry muscled body with it seemingly chiselled abs would be on show. But so what? So would everyone else's if they had them... Mason was chuffed that Sebastian agreed with his idea. A day at the beach with someone he considered a friend would be an awesome way to escape the confines of the school for a while. "Cool!" he smiled, "Can't wait until we do".
Of course Mason wasn't sure about riding a horse. He was stepping out of his natural comfort zone and trying something really different, that he had never done before. Naturally he was apprehensive- and excited, about the possibility. Mason gave an audible sigh of relief and visible relaxing of his body when told he would be given a 'friendly' horse to have his first ride on. "Thank God!" he said with relief. For a Freshman, he had a pretty cynical mindset when told the school would like to avoid a lawsuit if he got hurt riding a horse. He gave a derisive snort and rolled his eyes like teenagers were apt to do sometimes. "Cool..." he nodded when Sebastian told him he would look into it.
Indeed Mason had seen a TV show called 'Cobra Kai'. He watched it for a while, but then lost the run of the plot of it, missed a few episodes and then stopped watching it all together. For some reason he always figured he could beat Tanner Buchanan in a MMA cage match- oh yeah...it would be an epic fight and he knew that he'd make that guy squeal like a piggy. "Yeah...I used to watch it" he said, slightly distracted by one of the horses that was ambling over to sniff him and see if he had any food to feed it.

"Oh, you don't watch it anymore?" Sebastian's voice was soft. "I ask because I was hoping you were watching the first five episodes of the sixth season. There is a move a big guy uses I wanted to ask you about. I know it's not wrestling, but karate or kung fu, but you still might know about it. This guy has his opponent down on the ground. He stands over him and he flips forward, and lands on the guy, with his feet coming down on his chest, maybe? It was an awesome move. I just wondered if you knew anything about it."Sebastian obviously doubted Mason could help him with it, but he still held a little hope., Meanwhile, he was trying to figure out ways he might want to attadck Mason when/if they ever wrestled each other. Most wrestlers attacked the other's legs and tried to get him up so they could drop him onto the floor again. He also wondered if they would just have a regulation match to pin the other or whether it would be a submission match. Sebastian would obviously have to study any video on YouTube he could find to give him ideas on his strategy. But the best thing was that Mason said he would help teach Sebastian wrestling moves and holds. He was scared of Mason but he liked him a lot. He was just a nice guy. Intense, but still nice. Even the nicest guy got angry, He wondered how Mason would act when he got angry. Mason Sato

"Nah...got a little boring after a while. And I missed a few episodes of the show, so it was kind of hard to get what was going on". Mason shrugged. Sometimes you grew out of things you used to like. The description of the move that Sebastian wanted to know if Mason knew, made the Freshman seemingly turn white with horror. "Uhh- no' he answered with a little horror in his voice. "Never seen that move, or know what it is called. All I know is if I did that in a wrestling match, the referee would fry my ass from here to Sunday". Mason shuddered. The very idea of doing something as dangerous as that to an opponent in a match- unthinkable! If Mason had been older and a more experienced wrestler, he would have actually told Sebastian no, he wouldn't show him wrestling moves that he might use in matches with his friends back home. Or more accurately- not yet. It wasn't that he didn't want to show him, it was just that it would only be far to Sebastian if they BOTH got Sebastian into better shape first. From his own experience Mason knew how intense wrestling training could be. It wasn't just the strength thing. They would have to work on Sebastian's stamina. Having more 'puff' in him, would allow Sebastian to war down his opponent in a match until they were out of breath- then Sebastian could pick the guy to pieces. Then there was the whole flexibility/coordination thing. Training with Mason, he would almost literally get turned into a human pretzel by the little grappler. Once they worked on his flexibility, Sebastian would not only be able to wriggle out of his opponent's pinning moves- but also use it against him.

Sebastian listened to Mason. It was six seasons of different reasons to fight, really, so he understood what he was saying. "I understand that." Sebastian said. "As I said it's more karate or kung fu than wrestling, so yeah, I didn't think you might know it, but it was worth asking about." It was still a bad ass move. "Do you ever wrestle in a submission match with your friends?"Sebastian just wondered if their match would be a regulation match for a pin or a submission match. Probably one for a pin. Sebastian usually wrestled in submission matches with his rivals. They liked hurting him. He did have one wrestling match for a pin and he found it boring. He totally understood why his rivals wrestled to submit him instead. He didn't really understand why you would wrestle your friend for a pin. That didn't make any sense. Why would you hurt your friend? But a wrestling match was a wrestling match. Anyway, Sebastian just wondered what he would do if he was able to do anything to Mason. He would have to watch a lot -- I mean a lot -- of wrestling matches to see what was regulation and what was not. He certainly didn't want to piss Mason off in the match only to have him punish him in the match. Mason Sato

"Mmm- yeah I have" Mason hummed in reply. "I guess you kinda can call MMA 'submission wrestling'. And yeah, guess you can say I did do submission wrestling with my friends". One of the ways he stayed in shape and kept his edge at wrestling, Mason did Mixed martial Arts. His fierceness and 'never say die' mentality made him quite good and a hard kid to go up against. Of course it was up against kids his own size (usually). "Its kinda of intense- like really going at it" he said.
As far as Mason was concerned, the match- if and when it happened, would be 'regulation' match as Sebastian thought of it. He wouldn't take it too far- basically he would try and pin him, as well as avoid doing any throws on him, focusing more on trying to escape any hold that Sebastian tried to get on him. If nothing else, it would be kind of amusing to seeing the 'how the hell did he do that?' look on Sebastian face when he pulled off an escape move on any hold Sebastian tried on him. Wrestling to a pin boring? Not with Mason. Not with him executing escape moves. Also there was the situation of Sebastian being on top and then finding himself on his face with Mason turning him over to pin him. Yes- hitting a Reversal move on an opponent could freak out people that Mason wrestled.

"Are you kidding?" Sebastian asked. "Dude! I've seen UFC. That's nothing like wrestling. There's no way you elbowed your friends in the face when you had them down or punched them. Is there? Smeg, you're more intense than I thought!" Sebastian knew there was a difference between college wrestling and MMA fighting. "That smeg's just as harsh as the move I saw in Cobra Kai I was telling you about. Or maybe it was equal to it then."Sebastian couldn't help but look Mason up and down and assess him again. Yeah, he did look like he could deal with that kinda fighting. But holy smeg! If he did that stuff, Sebastian probably wouldn't want to wrestle him. Not unless they had rules in place. He didn't think Mason would really hurt him unless he pissed him off, so he wasn't about to piss him off. But if Sebastian thought Mason was intense before, he thought he was more intense now. The guy was off the charts! A horse came near and Sebastian tried to relax by stroking the horse's huge neck. MMA! Mason! Whoa! Sebastian tought. "What kinda martial arts do you know then?" Sebastian asked. "Wait. If you know that stuff, how come you don't know the move I told you about? The flip kick thing?"Mason Sato

"Nope- not kidding..." Mason replied before letting Sebastian go on. "No...I don't elbow them in the face when they are down on the ground" he admitted. Usually he and his friends were body padded up- waist and fist, and held back on how hard they went. After all, who really wants to hurt their good friend and training buddy? Of course when it came to grappling, neither Mason and his friends held back on each other. There was no better way for Mason and his friends to reassert their abilities to take a beating for their buddies, than to give one out. Being called 'intense' made him chuckle in an impsh way. Yeah...he could come across as intense by some people. "Mmm...yeah I can be I guess" he admitted.
Sebastian wasn't the first person to give Mason a look up and down. Some people when they found out about what sport he did, gave him that look as if to say: "You wrestle? No way- you're too little". Other times it was guys who thought they could mess with him. Most of the times they read the signs loud and clear and backed off. Some didn't- and learnt real fast he wasn't to be stepped on. Personally, he had noticed a few pretty girls over the summer doing that approvingly, when he was at the beach. For some reason...he liked it when they did that.
He was about to answer Sebastian's next question when he said something that Mason felt he needed to answer. "Actually....I THINK, that might actually be stunt work- the back-flip thing I mean. Not even I can do that in real life" he said in a slow and careful way. Mason was pretty athletic- but he wasn't THAT athletic. True- with his physical prowess and height/build, he could probably be a bad-ass gymnast.

Sebastian was a little frustrated. But maybe he hadn't described the move well. He thought he did, but sometimes that didn't work out. So he tried to visualize the scene from the show in his head again. "Okay, so there are two guys, right." He started. " One of them has been knocked to the ground and is on it on his back the other guy is looking down at the guy and is standing practically next to him. And he flips over -- " He moved his hands as the people he was talking about, one of them was below the other hand on its side and the other hand was over it. " -- Then the guy flips forward and -- no he wasn't that close." He moved his hands a fewe millimeters away from each other. "But anyway, the guy flips forward and lands on the ground on his back and his legs struck the other guy and knocked him out. It was just so incredible. I mean I've seen YouTube videos of a kid flipping forward in a wrestling match, so it's not trickery of any kind. You probably could do it. Easily." He thought for a moment. "I'm probably not describing this right. I'll have to show you the scene. And I won't be surprised if you're like 'Oh that. Of course I can do that, it's called this move. Why didn't you tell me that was what you meant?'" He laughed. While he wasn't scared of the young boy in front of him, he did feel at ill ease with him. Originally. But now that feeling had slowly evaporated. Mason was a good kid. He liked a particular sport to the point that he devoted everything to it. Sebastian couldn't think of anything he did that with. But he didn like drawing and did it almost every day, like breathing. He liked acting and singing and sung everyday. So maybe he wasn't so much different from him after all with his devotion to things. And he liked running or he wouldn't have been on the track team. And he instantly had a thougth. He would have to wait a little to ensure their time here was over before saying anything. No doubt he woud -- no, he thought. You have to bre positive. Mason Sato

Resting his head on his hands, that were crossed on the railing of the fence, Mason listened to Sebastian's description. He also kept an eye on the horse that was meandering in his direction from across the field. He followed what he was saying nodding every so often at what was being described to him. At first it sounded like the 'Flying Squirrel' move that people had been going nuts over a few years ago on the internet. Mason thought that was a stupid move- so much could go wrong with it and it could get you into uber-trouble if you tried it. It was where the kid's legs hit the other kid in the head that Sebastian lost him. His cocked his head in a confused manner and it extended to his quirked eyebrows. He had no doubt the move looked awesome. Some moves did look that way- if they were in real life. But mason still thought this might have been a stunt move of some kind. However he did smile when Sebastian told him he could probably do the move. It was cool when people thought that about you sometimes- even if he had no idea what Sebastian was on about. The fact he was going to show him the scene sometime meant that he would finally understand what Sebastian was talking about. "Probably will..." he answered, "Might know the move or I might not. We'll see" he said confidently. It was true that both Sebastian and Mason were dedicated to something in their lives, that they seemed to live and breath. Each dedicated their time and energy to become better at it and then find a goal that would make them each better still at it. It was on the cards that Mason and Sebastian would end up going for runs together. For his part he wasn't sure if Sebastian would go running in the winter when it snowed. Of course he wouldn't go out if the snow was coming down hard- that was stupid. No, he would find some other way to do cardio work- like using the treadmill in the gym- that way no one could complain about him running up and down stairs in the dorm area. Always good to stay in good with the other kids in the dorm he was finding out...

While the conversation was going great, he was getting bored feeding and petting the horses. He loved the horses, but how long had they been here? It seemed like a long time to Sebastian. He was a runner on the track team. He suddenly wanted to run. Maybe it was seeing the horses trotting around in the back field or just knowing the horses ran freely. He was thinking of asking Mason if he wanted a race, but that was unfair. The wrestler seemed to be the type to go for any kind of contest though. And if they raced it would probably be a close one. "Hey Mason," He asked looking at his companion. "Interested in a race to the dorm? I am on the track team so I might have a slight advantage, but these horses are making me feel like running."Mason Sato

Sebastian was right- Mason was the type to take on almost any type of contest (he wasn't stupid- there were things he wouldn't do). He liked to push his boundaries and see how far he could go before he 'splattered' on the 'wall' when he hit it. Of course, Sebastian's idea of running a race and Mason's idea of it, were very different. Sebastian ran for speed- crossing a short distance to be the first to the end. For Mason it was lasting a distance, pushing his endurance and 'feeling the burn' when he was nearing his physical and fitness limit.
He looked up when Sebastian spoke to him. Glancing at the horses in time to see one trotting about, he could see how Sebastian could feel like running. Also he was a Track team guy, so he naturally feel like running. Certainly he himself sometimes felt like wrestling from time to time. Often it would be because he was 'buzzing' with hyper energy or he saw some guy he thought might be a good opponent. "Ummm...okay" he said. Of course he had probably no chance of beating Sebastian because he was a Track guy and had longer legs (Boo- unfair!), but he wasn't about to back down from a challenge...
