| [attr="class","dibody"] It was an oddly unsatisfying track practice, the events in the boys locker room a day before still leaving a horrid taste in Adara's mouth.
She could barely look at any of the boys the whole practice, doing her best to keep them in her peripheral vision. However, every time she turned Luke managed to catch her eye— standing there, staring daggers in her direction. "Doesn't he have better things to do right now?" Adara thought to herself, rolling her eyes and going back into starting position. At least she could feel the comforting touch of rubber track on her fingertips. She kept her head down until a loud shot rang into the air.
Adara leapt forward, her breath heavy as she sprinted away. The pounding of her feet on the track set a tempo for her racing thoughts. "I don't know why he won't leave it alone." Sprinter's sure had an ego on them, and male sprinters had a fragile one. But she hadn't said anything about what happened. Well, not to a lot of people, just her closest friends.
The recording on her phone gave her a decent amount of reassurance against retaliation, at the very least.
The 200m sprint was over in a flash, and Adara bent over, her hands on her knees. Her breathing was heavy, but the light pain of it helped focus her. "Whatever, I don't care so long as he stops talking shit." she thought, looking up just as a familiar face ran by- Gael. He was running his own practice, but Adara couldn't help the annoyance rising within her.
She had complicated feelings about him after the incident. Adara hadn't done herself any favors by marching up to him to demand an apology. Handling situations with tact wasn’t really her thing, but she did feel bad for accusing him so ardently. "Though he outed you in front of a room full of guys," she reminded herself, her heart racing at the thought. Honestly, something scary could've happened, especially with how aggressively Luke reacted. "Yeah, that was messed up." However, technically he did help her out in the end, even if it was the most awful way possible. She owed him for that, to some degree.
A part of her wanted to just squash it, but another part of her wanted to chew him out to high hell.
The jury was still out on exactly what she wanted to do by the time practice was over, but she wasn't going to let herself simmer in it for another day. Everyone started to trickle back to the locker rooms, chatting and laughing amongst each other. A few days ago, Adara would be in the middle of the crowd, causing a commotion, joking around with her friends. Instead, she was quiet, stepping in front of Gael before he could even take a step off the track.
Adara focused her attention ahead of her, one of her hands on her hip. "Look, can we talk?" This time, her voice wasn't shaking with anger; there was no burning blaze behind her gaze. Just a simmering fire and a hint of irritation. "Somewhere else?" A few people took notice as they passed by, and Adara felt Luke's gaze on her before he got pulled away by his buddies to head out too.
The scene was eerily familiar, but hopefully this time it'd have a better outcome. "I'm not going to hold my breath over it though."

[attr="class","gaelpostbg"] [attr="class","gaelpost"] “F*******k.” Gael gasped as he crossed the finish line of his three-mile run. His legs burned, breath coming in sharp bursts as he slowed from a jog and bent over, bracing himself against his aching thighs. The double-layer of his shirt and track jacket clung to him, and he could feel the heavy beat of his pulse in his ears. But, damn, it felt good. The coach handed him a bottle of water, which he guzzled down, quenching his thirst as he headed straight for the bench near the edge of the field. There was something about the freedom of running that unleashed the adrenaline, the rush—making him feel alive for once. Sweat dripped down his forehead, and he swiped it away before plopping down onto the bench with a huff, letting his arms hang over his knees. He chugged a second bottle of water and finally noticed Ponytail and the other teammates playing opposites. Luke had one of those looks in his eyes—the kind that told Gael that Ponytail ought to back off. When Adara approached him at the end of practice, her face a mix of simmering rage and irritation, Gael quirked her an inquisitive brow. He capped his water bottle and set it aside. She stopped in front of him, looking like she wanted nothing more than to wrap her hands around his neck and squeeze real tight. “Look, can we talk? Somewhere else?” Gael leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, flashing her a grin. “We really need to stop meeting like this, or the others might just get the wrong idea.”[googlefont="Raleway"][googlefont="Chakra Petch"][newclass=".gaelpostbg"]background-size:contain;[/newclass][newclass=".gaelpost b"]color:black;[/newclass][newclass=".gaelpost i"]color:#b17b44;[/newclass]

| [attr="class","dibody"] “Yeah well, I’m already the talk of the town, what’s one more thing at this point?” Adara’s voice dripped with drawn-out sarcasm as she glanced around. The track was pretty clear now, any stragglers seemed to be members of other teams. “Well, I guess this is good a place as any.” She dropped onto the bench next to him, leaning back and crossing her legs. A pensive look passed over her face as she kept her gaze ahead, studying the field ahead of them. “Apology first, then you can chew him out.” She thought, suddenly unable to directly look him in the eye. Apologies always made her a little uncomfortable, even if they were necessary. It was much easier to laugh it off and move on. "But that's probably not gonna fly with him."
“Look— I'm sorry for coming at you the way that I did. I shouldn’t have accused you without knowing for sure. I was just…” Adara briefly grimaced, uncomfortable with how she angry she had been. “Very upset.”
Adara paused, turning her head to look over to him. A frown was clearly plastered on her features, her gaze fierce. Though she was able to keep her voice measured. “But instigating a man-hunt in the locker room? So beyond not cool.” In fact, the girl probably would go so far as to say it was a little f*cked up. Though she kept that thought to herself, she was trying to play it cool.

[attr="class","gaelpostbg"] [attr="class","gaelpost"]Ponytail didn’t give an inch. “Yeah well, I’m already the talk of the town, what’s one more thing at this point?” That lazy, drawn-out smirk barely shifted as Gael leaned back against the bench. After a quick survey of the local area, she sat her pretty little ass down beside him. He didn’t get her angle. He’d half-expected her to chew him out, not to sit down all nice and cozy. Were all girls this clueless? “Look— I’m sorry for coming at you the way I did.” An apology. Seriously? Gael nearly rolled his eyes. Instead, he huffed out a long sigh through his nose, casting his red eyes skyward, jaw tightening at the sheer absurdity of it all. This chick hadn’t learned a damn thing. He’d thrown her into the lions’ den, and here she was, crawling out with an apology. “I was just… very upset.” He stifled a snicker, turning his gaze back to her. There was still some spunk behind those eyes, but nothing close to the fire that should’ve been. “But instigating a man-hunt in the locker room? So beyond not cool.” Gael’s smirk twisted into something a little meaner, a little sharper. He stood, looking down at her with a quirked brow. “Not everyone’s a nice guy, Ponytail.” He drawled. “In the end, you’ve only got yourself to blame.”Nothing had ever been truer to him. Nothing. Every mess he’d ever been in was the result of his own actions. -- OOC: I'm so sorry for the wait. My muse for Gael decided to go on a vacation and I'm trying to get it back into working order. xD; But, you are so right Adara. This guy is f**ked up. 😭 [googlefont="Raleway"][googlefont="Chakra Petch"][newclass=".gaelpostbg"]background-size:contain;[/newclass][newclass=".gaelpost b"]color:black;[/newclass][newclass=".gaelpost i"]color:#b17b44;[/newclass]

Notes: not a problem <3
| [attr="class","dibody"]The girl's eyes narrowed, and her jaw tightened. Alright! So much for trying to play it cool. She’d hoped to come out of this with some mutual understanding. Like a, ‘Hey, sorry about that, I was in a bad mood.’
‘I’m sorry too, I could’ve handled that better.’
“Bam. We move on—is it that hard?”
Clearly that was not going to happen. Adara cursed herself for even thinking it was within the realm of possibility. She let out a scoff as he stood, shaking her head. His nasty smirk as he talked only lead to infuriate her more, and the girl had to fight to reign it in.
"In the end, you’ve only got yourself to blame."
"F*ck it."
"I know I'm partly to blame, that's why I apologized. Like a normal person who knows when they've messed up!" Her tone was sharp, pointed, but she did her best to keep her voice level and steady.
Adara stood, meeting him at eye level. "Look, I get it! I'm not going to pretend like it wasn't crazy. But maybe you could've cooled your f*cking jets when you saw how violent Luke was getting."
There it was. Adara’s heart raced as she remembered the way he’d slammed each locker door shut, or how his eyes had bulged with rage when he lunged at her. A shiver ran down her spine, and she felt the color drain from her face. She had to clench her fists tightly, her nails digging into her palms to keep them from trembling.
The sharp sting of her nails snapped her out of it, at least.
