HAUNTED HOUSE MODDED THREAD● This will be a modded thread. Everyone in your group has to POST in the round before you can request a mod post. All team members DO NOT have to INTERACT or VIEWS an item every round POSTING ORDER● There will be a posting order to keep the eerie adventure flowing smoothly. Each player has up to 6 days to make their move, or the turn will pass to the next soul in line. The order of play is: Urijah, Sebastian, Nicolas, James. Don't let the time slip away... or it might just come back to haunt you! COSTUMES MANDATORY● Share a picture or a detailed description of your character's Halloween costume! But remember, everyone is hiding behind a mask—what secrets are they concealing? CHARACTER ACTIONS● Each character has two ghostly game-moves they can make in their post. They can either VIEW an item or INTERACT with an item. Characters are free to VIEW as many items in the room as they dare, but they can only INTERACT with one item per post. If a character interacts with an item, no one else can claim that same item in the same turn... it’s theirs for better or for worse! CHARACTER ACTIONS MUST STAND OUT● When your character VIEWS or INTERACTS with an item in the room, make sure it stands out from the rest of your post. This way, the staff can easily spot your thrilling encounters with the supernatural! HAUNTED ITEMS● Each room hides two haunted items. One will come with a riddle for the group to solve, while the other lurks, waiting for someone to figure it out on their own. If a character INTERACTS with a haunted item, the whole team gets a strike! Gather three strikes, and the haunting takes control... game over! GOAL● Your main mission is to make it through all three rooms and find the exit before the spirits trap you forever! You and your group find yourselves trapped inside Ravenhurst Manor, and it’s up to you to discover how to escape. As you step inside, the doors slam shut behind you, sealing your fate. To make your way out, you must solve the challenges in each room to unlock the next. Complete all three rooms to escape successfully. You can also uncover the mystery behind the haunting by finding all four pieces of the story. The air is thick with dust, making it hard to breathe. Bookshelves filled with crumbling, old books line the walls, standing silently. In the center of the room is a large desk, covered with scattered papers and strange items. Behind the desk, a tall painting of a foggy forest hangs on the wall, and the shadows in it almost seem to move. On the windowsill, a black candle flickers weakly, casting shadows that dance across the room. Beside the candle rests a gleaming gold pocket watch. In one corner, a black hole in the wall seems to swallow the light around it, pulling your gaze toward its darkness. On the desk lie an old quill pen and fragile papers.  Urijah didn't have much time to prepare for the haunted house, so he put on an orange dress shirt, with a black tie, black pants, black socks, and black dress shoes and stood in front of the mirror before lifting up an orange masquerade mask. It wasn't a costume but this would be fine, it wasn't like he was interested in dressing up anyway. It hadn't crossed his mind that one might view him as a pumpkin, else he would have changed into a different outfit. He couldn't help but feel curious on if James would be coming but failed to cross paths so that he could make plans with him as soon as he arrived back in Wisteria City. He could have called or texted but having ghosted his friend over the summer, he desired to talk with him in person first but he appeared nowhere in sight. He stepped through the doors in to a dimly lit study. It was hard to breathe with how dusty the air appeared to be and when he turned back the door had slammed shut on him. Well great. I guess I'm stuck in here until I complete the challenges. He thought to himself, glancing around the room to familiarize himself with his surroundings.

Sebastian's costumeSebastian loved the green outfit this humanoid was wearing. It was from Hieronymous Bosch's triptych The Temptation of St. Anthony. He hired a friend of his mother's friends to make one resembling it out of green crushed velvet. He was a lot thinner than the humanoid in the painting. Meanwhile, he had bought a doctor's plague mask and tried to build up the beak with cardboard stock and tried to use a little papier mache. It looked as close to the snout as possible. It was hard to breathe in though, so he had to take it away from his face to breathe comfortably. He wore black boots though he really wanted to get some green ones. If he had enough money one day, he swore to himself he would buy a green pair. He decided to keep his guitar at home and there was no owl on his head. He did keep a knife in its sheath on the belt just in case it was needed. Anyway, he thought he looked good and he was definitely ready for Halloween. His only fear was would he be able to help out his team in this adventure they were going to attend. He would definitely try the best he could, He opened the door and took a deep breath before walking into the main room of the mansion. He thought there was somebody already in the room. That was good. He wasn't comfortable in dark places. "Hi, my name's Sebastian." Sebastian took the mask away from the bottom of his face so he could be heard by the other person in the room. He couldn't help but notice the bookshelves. He loved books. He looked down on the floor, hoping to see if there were possible trap doors where if he went closer to the bookshelves he might fall into. He carefully walked to the first bookshelf on the left and scanned the spines of the books on one shelf without touching any of the books yet. Nicolas was the 3rd motherf**ker to enter the room, sticking to his signature style—leather jacket, torn white shirt smeared with dirt and blood, jeans with a thick metal belt. The only visible skin, his hands and arms were covered in black ink, revealing bone-like designs. The mask covered all of his face, white, outside of black ink that covered the upper part, his eyes completely obscured by a glowing orange that caught any light that came his way. Below was a wide mouth stretching up to the back of his jaw, sewn shut with black thread. Finally a crooked hat donning his head.[break][break]  [break][break] He caught the gist of the other dude's introduction, he looked like a rat-man, costume on the cheaper homemade side. Then finally the last guy, in—what a f**kin' pumpkin suit? It didn't look much like a costume, at least rat-man had tried to pull something scary off.[break][break] More importantly was the fact that so far there wasn't a single female on their team. He turned glancing back to the door he had come through. He had been told they would be a team of four, being stuck with a bunch of sausages was exactly why he hadn't paired up with f**king Dirk and Tyrone.[break][break] Pumpkin suit was checking everything out not really focusing on anything particular, meanwhile rat-boy was checking out the bookshelf.[break][break] "Don't f**king touch anything without viewing it first," he was pretty quick to bark an order at the duo, before moving to the desk, just looking briefly and then over to the black candle, he wanted to f**king touch that.[break][break] He ignored the desk and made his way over to the window. "Haunted f**king items." He sighed, glancing around the room, couldn't see too much shit, and it was dusty as hell.[break][break] "See anything?" Urijah turned to see Sebastian walk into the room. He smiled about to introduce himself back when Nicolas had walked in and distracted him. "It's nice to meet you Sebastian, I'm Urijah." He answered in return before adding, "Nice costume." He then glanced towards Nicolas who told them not to touch anything without viewing it first. I wasn't planning on touching anything. Why'd I sign up again? He thought to himself, having second thoughts about being here. It was difficult to hold the sarcasm when he heard Nicolas question. "Of course. We clearly have plenty of things in the room." He knew the question Nicolas was asking about but the moment he had walked into the room, he couldn't help but feel like he had rubbed him the wrong way. If he thought he wouldn't be joining in before, he had second thoughts if it meant getting on Nicolas nerves in the process. Before he could say anything else James had walked into the room. He watched as he had started making his way towards the desk. Is that? He thought to himself, not quite sure because James was wearing a mask and had yet to say anything.

THE DUSTY STUDY  VIEWING THE BOOKSHELF 🔍● As you make your way over, satisfied there are no trap doors, you scan the bookshelf, filled with dusty old books. A musty smell lingers in the air. The books are neatly arranged, their spines worn with age, but nothing stands out at first. Then, you notice it—a row of four books near the center looks oddly out of place, different from the rest. Their titles read: The Shadow's Embrace, Bloodstone Chronicles, Secrets of the Manor, and Children of the Woods.  Viewing the Candle 🔍● You gaze at the half-melted black candle flickering on the windowsill, its flame burning a vibrant blue. Upon further inspection, you notice the flame sways dramatically, despite a lack of breeze. Behind it, the window reveals nothing but inky blackness, obscuring any glimpse of the outside world, almost as if deliberately painted black.  Interacting with the PAINTING 🤚● A large painting of a foggy forest hangs before you. As you look closer, something catches your eye—a small brass key peeking out from behind the frame. When you move the painting aside to grab it, the fog in the painting seems to shift, revealing a man hanging from a tree with a noose around his neck.  Brass Key: You've obtained a Brass Key! Sebastiam read the title of four books that looked out of place in the center of the bookshelf out loud. " The Shadow's Embrace, Bloodstone Chronicles, Secrets of the Manor, and Children of the Woods. They're the only titles I can read. Do they mean anything to anybody? I was kinda hoping to find a hidden passageway. Shadows Bloodstone Secrets Children. Embrace Chronicles Manors Woods. Secret Children?"None of the titles rang a bell to Sebastian and the different combinations of words didn't make any sense either. "Should I touch the books? "Of course. We clearly have plenty of things in the room." Pumpkin was the only one to respond to him, his tone sarcastic, but Nicolas' eyes drew to the new player.[break][break] They wandered in like a lost kit, and instead of a babe walking through the door in came another f**kin guy. He clicked his tongue making a scowl beneath his mask, but did look over the guy's costume. It didn't fit him at all, he looked too skittish for it. But the senior recognized it, Fallout, the movie. Yeah, he wasn't really one to play the games, in fact he only f**king new the costume because of the movie.[break][break] Without so much as missing a beat; fallout boy made his way right to the painting and put his hands all over it. "What the f—" did I just say, were the words that never left his mouth because suddenly they found a key. "Huh..." he drawled out the word cocking his head to the side and looking mildly impressed. [break] [attr="class","double"][break] [attr="class","trouble"][break] [break] [attr="class","pop"]he was glad the painting hadn't come off the nail it was hang off of. the key fell to the floor and he bent down to pick it up. sticking it into his pocket to keep it safe. he hadn't noticed that the painting had changed. he knew the guy had said not to touch anything, but how could he resist? after all wasn't the whole point of this game to find something to try to escape the room? another thing he hadn't expected was that comment."uh, thanks."he finally spoke up.
he turned to face the kid that had been searching through the bookshelves. had it only been them two to find something. he turned to peek at the guy all dressed in orange to see where he was at. there had to be more things hidden around here.
right now the focus was the books."well there's four of them should we all take one and see what we find?"he suggested as he started moving closer to the bookshelf.

Urijah couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed when Sebastian hadn't said anything further, making him assume that their introduction was done. He found himself staring at James as he had walked towards the desk before glancing towards Nicolas who was about to scold him. If he didn't know better, he had a pretty good idea on what was about to come out of Nicolas' mouth. He chuckled when Nicolas had stopped and surprised him by congratulating James for finding a key. He was surprised when James spoke up. I know that voice. He thought to himself, but seeing as he had a difficult time of finding James, he thought it best to stay quiet at this point. That last thing he wanted to do was risk James fleeing if he found out that he was here too. Sebastian had asked his question and he remained silent as Nicolas answered it. It seemed like everybody had something to do, everybody but him that was. Or at least that appeared to be the case before James had asked his question. Each of us take a book? Well I guess but that'd mean that he'd have to stop what he's doing at the desk to take a book himself. What are the chances that'd he'd even bother though? He thought to himself as he slowly moved towards the bookshelf.

The dusty study was swallowed by darkness, except for a dim blue light flickering near the window. A sudden gust of wind swept across the floor, chilling everyone’s ankles. [break] [attr="class","double"][break] [attr="class","trouble"][break] [break] [attr="class","pop"]was that part of the haunted house act? he was startled by the lights flickering and then turning off completely. what he hadn't expected was the other kid to go missing. they simply vanished without so much as a sound. that was a good trick and james was excited to know how it had happened.
he had remained still when the room had gone dark. again he wasn't sure exactly why that had happened. had they triggered something? his thoughts were brought back to the task at hand when the scarecrow spoke. he wanted them to not touch the books nows. weren't the titles of each books clues though? or is that why the kid had disappeared was it the bookcase? without a word he turned and made his way over to the desk.
he chuckled at the question. it was true what were they suppose to be. right now his only guess would be a pumpkin with all the orange they had on. he pulled the key out of the safety of his pocket and examined it. it looked like it was correct, but there was only one way to find it. he stuck the key in the lock and turned it.

Urijah stopped walking as soon as the lights started to flicker before turning off completely. Oh shit... Oh shit. Oh shit. He thought to himself as he forced himself to stand still. Hell no, he wasn't about to start walking in the dark. Who knows what was out there. The lights flickered back on and he looked around to see that Sebastian was missing. The fuck. The fuck. The fuck. I didn't sign up for this. He thought to himself as he heard Nicolas' comment. He rolled his eyes but found himself glued to his spot, unsure on where he wanted to go until he saw James moving in the direction of the desk. He slowly followed, feeling a small sense of safety because he believed it was James in that cool costume. Nicolas told James to try the key here and he found himself curious on where on the desk. He heard Nicolas comment but continued looking at the desk. "Just a guy in a suit. I didn't dress up." He admitted as he watched James place the key in the hole.
