Bonnie has some issues making friends simply because she struggles at expressing herself with much enthusiasm. She's used to the common bullying tactic of feigned interest, and as a result she has a habit of clamming up and falling back onto stoicism when she feels like her interests or opinions may be under threat. Combine that with her general awkwardness and tendency to overthink social interactions and you get kind of a hot mess to be around, honestly.[break][break]
Thankfully, there's a few ways to secure Bonnie's friendship, even if she might not immediately realize that she's your friend now:[break][break]
Madam President - In spite of the stereotypes that one might associate with a capital G Gamer, Bonnie cares very deeply about the Gaming Club being a welcoming and safe space for her members. To that end, she's very professional and attentive with club members. She's keyed in, she listens, she engages and exudes as much warmth and confidence as she can, even though it's still not exactly much. This policy also means that she's willing to try something a club member is interested in so as to understand the appeal.[break][break]
Flaourtown Chronicles - Bonnie regularly goes out to different restaurants and eateries to try new things. She'll often try out different items off a menu over repeat visits until she's had everything she can, write down her feelings on what she had, and then move on to other culinary experiences. She keeps her reviews and critique to herself, but she's willing to open up if someone happened to catch on that she was making repeat trips to a place. She's also reasonably generous with her dining budget, and can be convinced to share a meal with someone who looks like they need it. And hey, she just so happens to know what's good on the menu if you ask.[break][break]
Social Media (Studies) - As an aspiring critic, Bonnie has a lot of opinions on films, books and games that she doesn't usually go in depth on. (See: the general stoicism about her interests) However, humans are inherently social creatures and those opinions have to come out eventually. If Bonnie sees you reading or watching something she recognizes, she's a little more confident in coming over and sharing her thoughts, and she's equally willing to hear someone out if they do the same. Maybe you catch sight of her alone at the movie theatre, or maybe she's camped out at a game store waiting for a release of some kind. Either way, she's willing to be more talkative when she gets to analyze stuff.

Sure, but prepare to be stonewalled. That's not a commentary on me the player being unwilling to explore a romance plot with Bonnie - on the contrary, I'd love to see it! The issue lies in the fact that Bonnie is going to be playing the role of the friend who puts their hand on your shoulder and goes 'she's not worth it, bro', because ultimately she doesn't think she is. That whole stoicism self-defense is getting in the way again, and this time it's telling her that no, she is definitely for sure not date material. She wants to be, but she's not.[break][break]
Suffice to say, she's got a hell of a lot of imposter syndrome to overcome in order to accept that someone's interested in her. She's also never dated before, has no idea what she's doing, and very much wants to get a good grade in being a girlfriend, which is a normal thing to want and a realistic thing to achieve. She's also super self-conscious about the fact that she's trans, and that runs a certain risk of people not being cool with that. That's technically something she deals with in day to day life, but it becomes even more of a concern when romance is on the table.[break][break]
As far as personal preferences go, Bonnie is attracted to feminine features. She's not necessarily only interested in girls, but there's a level of prettiness necessary to catch her eye.

Sure, but prepare to be stonewalled even harder. Bonnie's policy with people she doesn't like is to just not engage with them unless she has to, and her stone-faced demeanour was cultivated specifically to deny bullies the dignity of a response. You would have to really drill down on Bonnie to get her to respond to you with anything more than privately held dislike or stoic contempt.[break][break]
Of course, there's more than one way to get on a person's bad side. Bonnie might shake off personal sleights like water off a duck's back, but if you really want to draw her scorn, being a dick to other people is an easy way to do it. She has no love for bullies. If you want to be rude to her, fine; but being cruel to other people? Now you're just a dick.[break][break]
There is, of course, other forms of bullying as well. There's currently a rumour going around that Bonnie's dating a teacher, and that's been bothering her big time. Other rumours, gossip, things like that, she doesn't like it. She would not be happy if she found out you were in some way responsible. There's also, well, the nuclear option: being a bigot. But... I mean, do you really want your character to be a bigot?

[attr="class","RelationshipText"]
Some fantastic plot ideas that were proposed by ADMIN ÁINE when Bonnie was initially approved! I may add some of my own if any occur to me.[break][break]
Esports Petition Encounter - Frustrated by the lack of an esports team, Bonnie takes her petition idea to a teacher who seems surprisingly supportive. This teacher, possibly a faculty member with a hidden love for gaming, offers to help her form the team if she can rally enough support from students. This pushes Bonnie to step out of her comfort zone and interact with her classmates.[break][break]
Content Creator Connections - Bonnie's struggling YouTube channel gets an unexpected boost when a more popular content creator at the academy shares one of her video essays, sparking conversations with students and teachers who recognize her face.[break][break]
Gamer Drama in the Club - Bonnie’s position as the founder of the Gaming Club is threatened when a new student arrives with their own ideas for how the club should be run. This new arrival could be more charismatic or influential, causing a rift in the club as students start choosing sides.
