Halloween was something easily enjoyed regardless of age in Warren's experience. He remembered being 18, taking Penelope trick or treating yearly, and dressing in matching costumes. Every time, the brunette matched Penny's costume without hesitation. Embarrassment, temperature or anything in between hardly bothered by the circumstances. This year's costume endeavour was temperature-compromising in some ways with a gentle edge of embarrassment. As he sorted the carvings and metalwork, Warren wore a massive faux fur jacket with a lined, thin vest beneath it. The jacket made it difficult to set things up, the sleeves being bulky.

Comfortable, loose black pants covered his legs with a black pack as the belt. A silvery medallion hung from a similarly-coloured chain holding it. A black headband with a white design held back brown hair brought into a tight bun; wigs were out of the question with his thicket of brunette locks. Tight black gloves were secured around his hands. A black mask with pointed edges was secured over his eyes to complete the masquerade requirement. It was designed to be the equivalent of the large, black sunglasses he saw in some pictures from the movie. After a long discussion on how he and Penny should match, this costume was decided.

His daughter had watched the Barbie movie and decided it was the theme for their costume. The brunette happily went along with it... however, after telling Willow to stop by the booth... The large man admittedly found himself a little anxious to have the light-haired librarian witness his choice in costume. A deep breath was inhaled, held, and gradually released. There was a pause in the sorting from the thought, but the teacher was quick to start organizing the merchandise. What Warren brought was his smaller, less expensive creations. Most were in a Halloween theme.

Small wooden pumpkins hand painted and carved from smaller wood scraps. Little cartoony ghosts with a hand-made stand, each with a different face. The metalworking was primarily small, simplistic pieces of jewelry. Silver and golden metal bands with shiny rocks embedded into them along with some engraved rings. Nothing was particularly inexpensive, but he kept the prices low to give the less wealthy students an opportunity if they wished to get something. Once the little pieces were sorted, Warren glanced over at his daughter with a broad, toothy smile on his face.

"Got everything handled there, Penny?" Warren asked.

They were handling their little merchant stand together. The brunette had promised his daughter could keep what she earned from her sales. He hoped it would become an excellent experience for the young girl. He made certain Penny knew she should only sell things she felt comfortable not keeping. Additionally, he assisted Penny in learning how to price her goods as needed and the cost of creation, time and everything in between. Curiously, his golden eyes glanced over the white-haired girl's pieces. He was excited to see what his daughter had in store. The father had additionally informed Penny he had a friend stopping by the booth.

He told the young girl the pieces of his adventure with Willow. How he found him gazing at the intricate mailbox, the trip to the dog park and the dramatic wolf/husky hybrid. He thought Penny would enjoy the retelling given the humour in the tale.

We're gonna fly away [attr="class","prism-onebody"]  Even if the theme was a little more embarrassing, she was still happy her papa had went along with it regardless. Her nails were painted a powdery baby pink, her body clad in a pink and white checked dress. Yes that was right...her costume was that of barbie herself! A pink ribbon was tied into the back of her hair in a perfect bow format, but the real new endeavor were the pastel pink heels. She had never worn heels before, causing her to stumble a few rimes and almost lose her balance entirely. They hurt her feet a little too, but she forced herself to wear them so she could grow used to moving in them. [break][break] A large crochet wolf was set aside from the items to be sold, something specially made for an expected guest. She had worked especially hard on it, especially after being told about a certain service animal. On the actual sale table though she had various things scattered, smaller crotchet black cats among them. There were a few hairclips also there for those who wanted to decorate hair, the shapes ranging from bats, little crescent moons, and spiderwebs. A few carefully laminated book marks were set out for readers as well, featuring werewolves, witches, and vampires. [break][break] There were also a few crocheted ghosts, to scatter alongside the little black cats. "I think so. Do you think my items are too niche?" It felt a little bit weird to be so pink instead of her usual red color scheme, but she kind of found it cute in a way. She had a pearl and seashell necklace around her neck as well, and little ribbon bracelets around her wrists in an appropriate matching pink tone. She had even gone the extra mile to put on pink lipstick, even though she normally didn't care to apply that type of make-up. There was one thing to be said about the girl's dedication to really selling her outfit, and she's simply outdone herself this time. In all honesty, Willow felt like he was the least useful staff member to keep track of kids. As much as he enjoyed helping his fellow staff members, the work was overwhelming for the librarian. Even if he turned off his aids, he felt like their screams and hollers were forever stuck in his skull. Ah well, at least his shift was up and boy did he he book it! He merged easily into the crowd as soon as his replacement arrived. Dressed in a simple pair of jeans and the strangely traditional partly opened plaid shirt that most werewolves wore for some reason or another. Yes, Willow thought it was funny to dress up as a werewolf with a huge fluffy white tail and even larger ears. He even went as far as getting cute paw like gloves to add to it. Dunkin', who was always at his side, was dressed as a sheep that he found in a pet store. It was amazing it even fit the beast! But now, as he adjusted his little plain black mask, he looked around the stalls. Warren was supposed to be around here somewhere and he did promise to stop by. And now, as he thought about this he wondered on his choice of attire. Did he look silly? Willow glanced nervously down at Dunkin' who shook his head, displacing the fluff on his head. The man sighed, hunkered down and adjusted the floof on his wolves head. While adjusting he caught sight of Warren. It wasn't hard to spot the man considering his height! He couldn't quite figure out what he was dressed as, as all he could see was the man's backside and a massive coat. To the man's side must be Penny. She looked adorable in her pink checkered dress. Fidgeting with Dunkin's outfit one last time, he made his way over to the stand. He really hoped he didn't look too silly. |

Careful eyes watched her daughter, always worried about how she was handling herself. Warren was unfamiliar with heels, but he remembered distant memories of dates with Marie where she complained about them. However, the woman was determined since it was a 'highlight of feminity'... Not that Warren fully understood her reasoning... but considering his closet the brunette had no place to judge. Curiously, Warren glanced over the creations of his daughter. A broad smile spread across the brunette's lips as he looked over the crochet pieces, hairclips, and other accessories.

The brunette was brought of the effort his daughter put into her creations. The artistic side that was fostered in her showed in the work she produced. At the question, Warren gave a gentle, reassuring laugh at her concern. His hand softly clasped his daughter's shoulder in hopes of making her feel more secure about her choices.

"It's Halloween. A lot of them would be sought after, I assure you," he told the young girl with a wide grin.

After a few moments, he released Penny's shoulder, eyes turning elsewhere to curiously look over the attendees. As the brunette glanced around, he noticed him. Despite the insistence on masquerade costumes... the large wolf dressed as a massive sheep was effectively a giant, white flag. Thus, as the white-haired man approached, Warren turned to him and happily waved. The large man's golden eyes took a moment to take in the werewolf outfit adorned by the librarian.

"Hey, Will! Was wondering when we would catch sight of you!" He bellowed out loudly, a laugh thundering afterward. "Your costume looks amazing!"

Further glances over the costume occurred as the distance was closed. For the moment, Warren forgot about the open-front, faux fur jacket hanging around his shoulders. However, once he realized this, the one-armed man shifted to slightly more awkward. The non-artificial hand reached up and ran through his brown locks before returning to his side. This would be an interesting Halloween, but he accepted it the moment he invited Willow to come check out the booth.

We're gonna fly away [attr="class","prism-onebody"] She had tried her hardest to make things that were good quality, and that fit the theme. She had pretty high standards for the things she would creative, even if most of it was just for fun. A little whine escaped her lips as she turned to look at approaching visitors, almost twisting her ankle with the heels. Everyone's costumes looked great though, and she felt a little bit in awe. Hers would be considered pretty simple, in a sea of ghouls and vampires. Here came the horde of teenagers, looking for decorations and probably more candy than one could ever hope to safely eat. She hoped that everyone had fun on such a festive night, and that nobody would be let down by their peers. [break][break] "I tried to follow the trends without compromising creativity." She was happy that he thought she did a good job, regardless of how finicky balancing those things could be. Hers generally had more of a cutesy appeal, so the more horror leaning may pass over them. She almost tripped over herself again, when the inevitable expected guest would appear. Her feet were not very happy with her decision, but at least it was a growing ache and not a more severe type of pain. Would this pay off in the end? She didn't know if anyone would find her that memorable, enough to cherish this memory like it mattered. [break][break] She waved as her father called out, giving a cute little wave. There was a bright smile on her face, though she almost topped over off her feet from the vigour of the wave. She straightened up in order to properly greet when he was closer, grabbing the crochet wolf off of where she had hidden it for safe-keeping. Her father hadn't been kidding, the wolf-dog was absolutely massive. She didn't want to distract the canine, but he was absolutely adorable. Potential customers were all forgotten for the moment, always ready to meet a new person. This was an extra special occasion, as anyone important to her father would inevitably be important in her own life. Oh sweet baby Jesus!The moment Warren turned to greet him he instantly regretted coming. Not because he wasn't happy to see Warren or his daughter, he was thrilled, but because that full view of the man's chest made his brain go full throttle. Willow hadn't been mentally prepared to see that much of Warren and what it stirred inside made the man blush something fierce! It was at this moment he began to accept the fact that he was forming a crush on the giant. And, damn, he looked mighty fine dressed as Ken. The hand that held the bar of Dunkin's tightened as if that would help ground the werewolf. Okay, deep breaths! Deep breaths! Everything would be totally fine just don't stare at the chest. The eyes are physically above the torso. His gaze snapped to Warren's face and then to Penny. He raised a clawed hand and waved at the pair with a soft smile. Dunkin walked along with his human and once they reached the booth, he sat on his furry bottom and waited. Looking not at all bothered by the people that passed by. ”Hey!” Willow spoke and signed at the same time. ”You look…great as well!” He spoke happily while his brain wanted to correct the great to wonderful. He turned his attention to Penny then and chuckled, ”Um, Hi, you must be, Penny?” and My goodness she was a tall child, taller than him! He supposed that shouldn't be surprising considering who her father was, a giant. ”I'm Willow, it's nice to finally meet you.” He added a moment later. He still wasn't positive if he had seen her in the library before but it was possible. Just hard to keep track of due to the amount of students he saw daily. ”You look nice in your costume, Barbie isnt?” Yes, a perfectly natural conversation. Nailed it. |

The struggle of his daughter managed to be noticed by the tall teacher. A worried softness entered his golden eyes as he regarded the young woman. Had Penny brought an extra pair of shoes? While his daughter wanted to adjust to the sensation of wearing heeled shoes, the brunette would naturally concern himself with her comfort and well-being. The concern showed in the father's expression, but he kept himself quiet for the time. They were on school grounds, if Penny needed to change shoes, it would not be an unreasonable walk for either of them to head to her dorm to grab a change.

Furthermore, he always worried about meddling too much in his daughter's actions. The girl was almost 16, meaning Driver's Education would become a consideration for her alongside working toward getting her license... The thought baffled Warren. He was in his early 30s with a daughter and she was reaching the age where she would be prepared to take on the world. The mere thought was difficult to swallow after watching her grow up. A soft smile re-lit his face as Penny explained the use of without compromising on her creative spirit... The sentence alone made her proud.

Attention shifted to the approaching, white-haired librarian quickly afterward. The open-chested costume brought an astonishing amount of awkwardness to Warren's mood. Echoing in his mind was the mantra of 'act natural', but occasionally he questioned why the thought crossed his mind. The brunette wanted to impress the white-haired librarian a little, or at least, be viewed in good favour. The desire was peculiar given he regularly cared naught for the thoughts and opinions of others. Thus, when Willow complimented the costume, Warren's smile broadened as a chuckle thundered out of him.

"Credit goes to Penny! She thought of the theme," Warren happily declared, gently patting his daughter's back. "I see even Dunkin's joining the festivities. Makes one big sheep."

Another laugh escaped Warren at the mention of the massive hybrid. Afterward, Warren quieted down a little, allowing the pair to exchange greetings as golden eyes shifted to the front of the booth; furthermore, he wanted to give Penny the opportunity to present her homemade gift. There was a break in customers after people settled into the festivities a little more. However, the brunette could imagine it trickling through the night as people peeked at their creations as they returned back to their respective dorms or homes.

We're gonna fly away [attr="class","prism-onebody"] While many teenagers would try to pull away from their parents or be embarassed if their closeness was percieved, Penny was happy and content in their family unit. While her determination to grow used to heels still stood strong, she doubted she'd ever wear these things again unless it was for scattered costume themeing. The soreness and ungracefulness far outweighed the pretty benefits, at least where her own standards were concerned. "Yep, I thought of it after seeing the movie." She flashed a brilliant smile at the recognition, pleased with herself. [break][break] She knew the movie had a lot of critics and fans alike, but she thought it had a pretty good message. Mainly for women and young girls, but she also thinks there were enough nuances for the males of the world as well. "You have the most adorable sheep ever, by the way!" It was seriously a big temptation to pet the wolf-sheep, but she was able to resist no matter how much the allure was. "I have a gift for you by the way." She quickly but carefully snatched up the crochet wolf, holding it out for Willow to take. There was an excited glimmer in her eyes as she waited expectantly, hoping beyond hope that it would be well liked. [break][break] She had no idea if he would even be expecting a gift, but she didn't mind one way or the other if her papa had mentioned it beforehand. All she really required was that the exact gift wasn't spoiled ahead of time, after all she did like some form of reaction! She thought it would even go nicely with the costume, as if Willow was carrying around a little wolf pup for the festivities. Though it did raise some amusing imagery, especially with the massive size of the sheep-wolf. The crotchet wolf was miniscule in comparison, though that made the 'wolf pup' part way more believable. Penny did a wonderful job with the outfits! Perhaps too good as Warren had become very distracting to look at and really got the librarian's brain going at inappropriate top speeds. Maybe if he just didn't look at him directly then it would be totally fine! Absolutely fine! Which is why he was so thankful Penny was here to distract him from his temptation! He smiled softly at the young lady as she spoke. Doing his best to pay attention to the words she spoke in order to understand her better. It seems she and Warren both liked Dunkins sheepy look. This made him very happy and brightened visually as he put a hand to the wolf's head. He then signed and spoke at the sametime, though his words were probably a little top soft as he couldn't quite pick out the proper volume to use. ”Thank you, I thought It would be cute to dress him as a sheep, considering what I'm wearing.” He laughed, trying not to feel too awkward and nervous. ”I'm glad you both like it.” He snuck a quick look at Warren, felt his cheeks warm and quickly looked away as Penny spoke again. Yes, please keep distracting him! But now, he paused with a tilted head and a blink. Did he see that properly? A gift? His hands went to ask what she meant, though before he could she pulled out the most adorable crochet wolf he had ever seen in his life. She held it out to him and for a moment he hesitated and looked at Warren for help. Carefully, he took a stuffed animal with wide eyes as he gasped at the cuteness of it. He looked absolutely delighted as he turned it in his hands. ”Is this…for me? Are you sure?” He asked, unable to sign as he was petting the soft material in awe. He didn't get gifts often and so to him, this was utterly touching and amazing. ”D-did you make this? It's so adorable and soft…and oh, Dunkin! Look its a mini you!” he chuckled and held the stuffed animal out for Dunkin to see, who sniffed it in return out of curiosity. He absolutely loved it! ”Thank you, Penny. I love it so much!” He was going to find a very special place for this adorable gift in his home. |

Occasional drifting glances were accomplished while the conversation carried on. Somebody needed to watch for customers, but regardless, the brunette remained tuned into the conversation. The pain of working a stall and attempting to participate in casual conversation, but Warren brought it upon himself by inviting Willow to check out the stall. However, when his golden gaze returned to his daughter, his heart warmed witnessing her pride. He adored witnessing his daughter's pride in her creative work. The young deserved to wear pride on her sleeve for everything she worked on.
