[attr="class","wabisabi"] As Astrofil took the center stage of his dance studio, he mulled over in his contemplative thoughts which technique he should introduce to his private lesson attendee. Their session was less than 10 minus away and he was well-rehearsed, and anticipating his student's arrival any minute. He'd debated between three thoroughly developed techniques and step-by-step tutorials he had typed up and saved as part of his ever-growing, large wealth of lesson documents. Farrah Deneir was the student he was expecting for this hour's private lesson. The young man was one of his long-term students from the usual class elective hours on campus. A dazzling eyed student with an appreciation for the classical side of dance, Astrofil always was with serene thoughts of witnessing how Farrah only continued to practice and improve on what was one of his fondest art forms in dance. When he'd seen a ballet performance as a youth, it was the first time he'd ever seen the power behind gracefulness and conveying emotions of whimsy, sorrow, and power as though telling a theatrical tale without words. A hand tucked under his chin, deep in a focused train of thought between which of the three techniques out of his lesson planner he should start with... ah, perhaps he was thinking too far ahead, at this point. He had a habit of over-planning... thus, he took in a deep breath, snapped himself out of his busy thoughts, and drew open the curtains of the grand arched windows viewing the tall trees adorned in fall leaves of the campus. " There, that's better. Just a little more natural lighting," He noted in a quiet, hum-like murmur. Like the ocean's dancing with a storm, I will dance with you
TAG - Astrofil Rosaura NOTES - Assume Farrah's just around the level of someone who has danced consistently since he was 5-6. Also, has been en pointe for 4-5 years. Only a few things in life offered the kind of distraction that Farrah was constantly seeking. One of them was ballet. He started as a child in Caguas, taking lessons in the town over, all sponsored by his honorary grandparents. Back then it had been merely a means to exhaust the energetic child they were watching, who’d fallen so stupidly in love with ballet after one unfortunate viewing of Barbie and the 12 dancing princesses. He hadn’t looked back after that, not until Wales, when his instructors started finding all his flaws.
Too short. Not the right body. His head was too big. He would never be picked over a more traditional girl. Just as well to stop, and find a path he had any hopes of becoming successful in.
Disheartened, he’d given up on the dream, but not on the art. Because ballet was one of two lifelines in a terrible time, giving him room to detach from his life and just float in thoughts of combinations, of choreography, of technique and execution. Despite the pain it felt like nothing could hurt him when he was dancing, like he was invincible, so giving it up was out of the question. Never. Nu-uh.
That was why he always looked forward to his private lessons with Mr. Rosaura. An hour of only ballet, and without the white noise of his classmates. It was an hour of joy, really. Even when it was frustrating, hard or painful. That was also why he was unusually chipper when he reached for the door, giving it three rapt knocks with his knuckles before sliding it open to peek his head in.
“Mr. Rosaura? I hope I’m not too-too early?” It looked like the room was otherwise empty, so he let himself in under the assumption that if there had been a class before his, it was already concluded. He beelined for one of the corners to abandon his bag and his coat. Underneath he wore a pretty standard ballet attire of a lilac leotard, white tights and a white wrap-around skirt. In a hurry he pulled out his water bottle, as well as putting on his ballet slippers.
Moments later he straightened, pivoting on his foot to face his teacher. “So, what are we doing today Mr. Rosaura?”

[attr="class","wabisabi"] As though having fatefully arrived at the perfect moment, a finch's fluttering visitation upon the windowsill potted flora arrived at the same moment as a pleasant knock on his studio door. Astrofil's expression, having not stirred from his deep thought and attempts to preen the studio alike a dutiful but overstressed bird with their own nest, slowly sobered from its contemplation as the autumn light danced over brown feathers that were a similar shade to Farrah's own rich head of long hair. Astrofil's lips warmed with a growing smile at the sight. It reminded him of poetry come to life. The sweet flight of a small brown finch, greeting he and his student who he always saw as quiet sweet and elegant as a bird taking flight across the studio floor. " Welcome in, Ms. Deneir! It's always wonderful to see you here. You can never come too early. This studio is one I hope you may view as your home, that you are able to come visit at any time," He greeted in kindness, sincere warmth reaching his topaz eyes as he turned to face his student and offered a small bow before him. In playfulness, yes, and yet the movement still held a flowing regality with the simple sweep of his arm before re-straightening his posture. " There's three different techniques I've considered for today's session. There is Arabesque, the 'five positions' for foot work, and taking a step farther into advanced pointe work. Which of these are to your liking?" Farrah's dedication, and passion, for ballet was rare to come by on the school grounds. Astrofil wished to guide Farrah forward and do his best to foster the student's hopes. With how indecisive he was today, only out of his over-thinking and desire to provide his student with the best training, it seemed only suitable to offer Farrah all three ideas that'd crossed his mind and let him pick. Like the ocean's dancing with a storm, I will dance with you
The moment his greeting had been acknowledged Farrah’s back straightened, before he offered a curtsy back similar to what he used to do to greet his ballet instructor back in the-home-that’s-not-home. Simple, elegant and yet distinctly ballet-esque. “Thank you, Mr. Rosaura. I wouldn’t want to disturb another students' lessons, though.” While he felt perfectly at home on the dance floor, and could push his own anxieties around people to the side, Farrah knew there were plenty of people who felt uncomfortable being watched by spectators. Far be it from him to ruin someone else’s good time by poking his head in where it didn’t belong.
He straightened again, but only momentarily before his entire torso seemed to loll ever so slightly to the side with a giggle. “Are you implying I don’t practice the basics enough, sir?” It was a momentary slip of a little sass, before his lips thinned in almost immediate regret. Being overly familiar with the staff was bad manners, he was just a student after all. “Ah- apologies. I.. mm.. maybe we should start with a warm-up, and then we can see what’s the most reasonable after? I did bring my pointe shoes so..” His voice trailed off, making a waving motion with one arm in the general direction of his bag.
A few seconds later he hummed, eyes fluttering between the large windows and his teacher in uncertainty. “W-well, truth be told..” Farrah hesitated for a moment, shifting his weight from one foot to the other before finally bringing himself to meet Astrofil in the eye. “I was hoping to, maybe, practice some of the nutcracker choreography. Y-you see! I was talking to Cyrus about it, w-well, mostly joking that drama and dance should pair up and run a christmas showing of The Nutcracker this year- b-but that’s neither here nor there!!” Every word tumbled out too quickly, and with a now flustered Puerto rican accent, before he finally ran out of breath and was forced to slow down, red cheeked in fluster. “It just made me want to learn the sugarplum fairy pas de deux.”
