HAUNTED HOUSE MODDED THREAD● This will be a modded thread. Everyone in your group has to POST in the round before you can request a mod post. All team members DO NOT have to INTERACT or VIEWS an item every round. POSTING ORDER● There will be a posting order to keep the eerie adventure flowing smoothly. Each player has up to 6 days to make their move, or the turn will pass to the next soul in line. The order of play is: Bonnie, Walther, Gael, Kitt. Don't let the time slip away... or it might just come back to haunt you! COSTUMES MANDATORY● Share a picture or a detailed description of your character's Halloween costume! But remember, everyone is hiding behind a mask—what secrets are they concealing? CHARACTER ACTIONS● Each character has two ghostly game-moves they can make in their post. They can either VIEW an item or INTERACT with an item. Characters are free to VIEW as many items in the room as they dare, but they can only INTERACT with one item per post. If a character interacts with an item, no one else can claim that same item in the same turn... it’s theirs for better or for worse! CHARACTER ACTIONS MUST STAND OUT● When your character VIEWS or INTERACTS with an item in the room, make sure it stands out from the rest of your post. This way, the staff can easily spot your thrilling encounters with the supernatural! HAUNTED ITEMS● Each room hides two haunted items. One will come with a riddle for the group to solve, while the other lurks, waiting for someone to figure it out on their own. If a character INTERACTS with a haunted item, the whole team gets a strike! Gather three strikes, and the haunting takes control... game over! GOAL● Your main mission is to make it through all three rooms and find the exit before the spirits trap you forever! But there's a deeper mystery lurking in the shadows... uncover the haunted house’s dark secrets along the way if you dare! BADGE PRIZES● Teams that survive all three rooms will earn a special badge! There's also a second badge for those brave enough to uncover all four hidden story pieces. PREMISE & STARTING MOD POST | |
You and your group find yourselves trapped inside Ravenhurst Manor, and it’s up to you to discover how to escape. As you step inside, the doors slam shut behind you, sealing your fate. To make your way out, you must solve the challenges in each room to unlock the next. Complete all three rooms to escape successfully. You can also uncover the mystery behind the haunting by finding all four pieces of the story. But be wary of the haunted items—accumulate too many strikes, and the vengeful spirit will claim your team... permanently. Room 1: The Dusty StudyDescription:The first room is a dimly lit study. The air is thick with dust, making it hard to breathe. Bookshelves filled with crumbling, old books line the walls, standing silently. In the center of the room is a large desk, covered with scattered papers and strange items. Behind the desk, a tall painting of a foggy forest hangs on the wall, and the shadows in it almost seem to move. On the windowsill, a black candle flickers weakly, casting shadows that dance across the room. Beside the candle rests a gleaming gold pocket watch. In one corner, a black hole in the wall seems to swallow the light around it, pulling your gaze toward its darkness. On the desk lie an old quill pen and fragile papers. The door you came through is sealed shut, leaving you trapped in this eerie space. PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Macondo][googlefont=Creepster]

I would've figured the Gaming Club President would be all over an escape room."[break][break] "Iunno. They're ok I guess. This is my first chance to attend a ball in a dress, though."[break][break] "Ha! I guess even the Prez wants to be a princess sometimes, huh?"[break][break] "So it's true? You're going to the ball with your boyfriend?"[break][break] "I... don't have a boyfriend. What're you talking about?"[break][break] "Ooooh, sure, sure. That's why you're passing up on the escape room and going to some normie dance in a dress. C'mon. We've heard about the boyfriend, Prez."[break][break] "Okay. Again. I don't have one of those. I don't need to justify my holiday plans to you."[break][break] "C'mon, dude. She's not gonna admit to it, teachers and students aren't supposed to date, they'd get in so much trouble."[break][break] "What."[break][break] "It's cool, Prez! We get it! Go enjoy your ball with your definitely not boyfriend who's definitely not a teacher! We won't tell anyone!"[break][break] -----[break][break] And that's why it was absolutely vital that Bonnie be at the haunted house. To dodge the allegations. It was a pain in the ass, though. She hadn't really planned on doing an escape room in her Halloween costume, an elegant, intricate and dark fantasy gown with a regal black crown and veil. It was very... daring, for her. Something extraordinary and alluring and fancy to wow people with, something that the average person would clock as a badass evil queen so that she didn't have to explain to them that it was actually her MMO character. It was not something she wanted to wear to a dusty, musty old escape room where she'd be rooting about and having to move... and yet, here she was. To dodge the allegations.[break][break] And then she got randomly assigned to a team with a teacher on it. Allegations: unbeaten.[break][break] "Okay, so..." Bonnie spoke up as she saw the room, desperate to just stay on task, clear this house and maybe get her fellow student teammates to vouch that she most certainly wasn't dating any teachers tonight. "If I were making a puzzle in a room like this, the first thing I'd do is something with all those books... so I'm gonna... go look at those books." The blonde started marching over to the bookshelves, her black and blue dress trailing behind her. It swirled as she looked over her shoulder and added a critical addition to her statement. "Platonically, I mean."[break][break] Wait, what did that mean, Bonnie? That implies the existence of romantic book-reading. What the fuck are you saying, Bonnie? The senior purged those aggravated thoughts as she started to inspect the spines of each of the books, trying to purge her rattled train of thought by finding something out of place for her to pick out. She reached out, running her finger along the books as she chewed on the inside of her cheek.[break][break] Haunted houses always had something going on with the bookcase, right?[break][break] -----[break][break] Outfit: here, here, here[break][break] Walther Menon , Kitt Combs , Gael Honora [attr="class","ayab-credit"] SELKIE[newclass=.ayab-border] padding: 10px; background: #ececec; border: 1px solid #ddd; margin: auto; width: 522px; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-container] width: 500px; border: 1px solid #fcfcfc; outline: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 10px; background: #f1f1f1;[/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-header] width: 450px; background: #333; display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: space-between; padding: 25px; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-icon img] display: block; border-radius: 100%; padding: 5px; background-color: #fafafa; border:10px solid #ccc; border: 10px solid var(--be-accent); [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-lyrics-hov] font: 400 24px/26px playfair display; font-style: italic; color: #888; flex-grow: 1; overflow: hidden; display: flex; margin-left: 25px; justify-content: center; align-items: center; text-align: center; position: relative; height: 130px; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-lyrics-hov:after] content: ""; position: absolute; width: 50px; height: 3px; margin-top: 35px; background:#ccc; background: var(--be-accent); [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-lyrics] width: 100%; position: absolute; opacity: 1; transition: 0.75s; transition-delay: 0.5s; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-container:hover .ayab-lyrics] opacity: 0; margin-left: 150px; transition: 0.75s; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-tagged] opacity: 0; transition: 0.5s; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-tagged a] font: 400 24px/26px playfair display !important; font-style: italic !important; color:#ccc; color: var(--be-accent) !important; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-container:hover .ayab-tagged] opacity: 1; transition: 0.5s; transition-delay: 0.75s; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-body] display: table-cell; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-text] font: 400 13px/16px vollkorn; color: #888; padding: 40px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-text i] color: #aaa; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-text b] font: 700 12px/16px roboto; color:#999; color: var(--be-accent); [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-shape] float: right; shape-outside: polygon(0 0, 100% 100%, 100% 0); width: 100px; height: 100px; clip-path: polygon(0 0, 101% 100%, 101% 0); background:#ccc; background: var(--be-accent); padding-top: 00px; margin-left: 50px; margin-bottom: 50px; [/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-credit] text-align:center; margin:auto; margin-left:500px;[/newclass] [newclass=.ayab-credit a] font:700 7px/7px roboto;[/newclass]

“Thank you for coming in Mr. Menon. While the administration has no qualms about your teaching methods, we do feel you could do better in opening up a bit more with your peers. While of course this is mandatory we would like to request you join the Autumn Masquerade Festival, specifically the haunted house portion. It can help build engagement with you and the students”
“…like hell I’m going to do that!”
He ended up doing it…
“Boss! Stop acting so glum! Its going to be fun! Trust me! I even have the perfect costume for you to wear!”
“…like hell I’m going to wear that!”
He ended up wearing that…
What was meant to be a simple casual meeting with the administration seemed to lead to him being volunteered to join a haunted house escape room. While the idea of an escape room sounded fun, it was the fact that he had to work together with others that made it more difficult for him. The additional fact that he had to dress up did not help at all. When asking one of his workers for assistance they brought out a rather…interesting attire. It wasn’t necessarily anything embarrassing so he had to thank them for that at least, though he did feel a bit silly dressing up regardless.
His body was coated with his Halloween costume, the costume surprisingly comfier than he thought it would be. In a way he had to give his workers some credit as he was quite used to wearing hoods normally which added some comfort. While the wrapping around his lower half of his face wasn’t the most comfiest, it was better than wearing a full mask.
And so the doors fell shut and Walther stood inside the dusty room alongside his three student teammates. As much as he didn’t really want to do this, in the end he could get a bit competitive at times when it came to games, so he went into this with a single intent…to win.
Standing there with arms crossed, his hidden eye began to scan the room, taking in whatever he could to figure out exactly what they needed to do. As his eye continued to look around the room, one of the students began to speak and he looked over at her. It was good to have someone to start this thing off and her idea was a solid one, though the last part brought up some sort of confusion.
“…ooookay then…you…go read those books…platonically? I guess?” Walther said puzzled a bit. Just what did she mean platonic? Was she implying that this haunted house could potentially hold some sort of romance book or dare he say lewd books?! Walther was just going to…avoid the books for now…
Returning to scanning the room his eye could help but just stare upon the painting up ahead. The way those shadows looked upon it didn’t seem right and so an idea popped up in his mind as he walked over to the nearby candle and took it, holding it up before the painting before them and attempted to use its light to illuminate the painting. The shadows were what had caught his attention and so he moved around the candle slowly, keeping an eye on the paining to see if anything happened.

[attr="class","gaelpostbg"] [attr="class","gaelpost"]So, we had the Blue Sorceress, the Samurai Assassin, the Vampire, and Circus Soleil—rounding out the team of Freaky Fiends. Gael snorted quietly, his red eyes flickering over the scattered papers and quill on the desk. They’d barely made it through the rundown of how the haunted escape room worked before they’d been shoved into the Dusty Study, the door slamming behind them. The Blue Sorceress wasted no time, rambling off about puzzles and books as she approached the bookshelf. Her emphasis on checking the books “platonically” caught Gael’s attention. He raised an eyebrow in her direction, biting back a sarcastic remark. “…Ooookay then…,” It was Mr. Samurai who called her out on it. “You… go read those books… platonically? I guess?” Jesus f**king Christ. Everyone in the room had grabby hands and apparently zero brain cells between them. Blue was snatching up books like she was on some academic mission, and good ol’ Sam decided it was a bright idea to pick up the goddamn black candle. Gael instinctively flinched, half-expecting the lights to flicker and the room to start shaking like you see in some cliché haunting. Did these idiots not realize some of this stuff was haunted? This was going to be an absolute sh*tshow. [nospaces][googlefont=Open+Sans:400,700,700i|Oswald:300,600] [attr=class, kittanger] [attr=class,absolute-holder] [attr=class,image-back accentbg] [attr=class, image] [attr=class,line1] [attr=class,line2] [attr=class, wordcount] 514 words [attr=class,lyric1] As long as you keep moving [attr=class,lyric2] You're gonna find the sun [attr=class, bulk] Standing amongst the group with an evil queen and a vampire, all supervised by some heroic figure right out of a YA novel, Kitt wondered if they should have gone with a different costume. Even if a circus ringmaster wasn't exactly 'on theme' for the Freaky Fiends, though, Kitt was really proud of the work they'd done to get their costume right. [break][break]The whole point of finally going to a proper school was the opportunity to participate in fun events like the haunted house. Kitt had started working on their costume immediately, only spending a few hours lamenting the fact that they had the wrong build to try and make a costume of their Free character. Big, burly beast master was out; Kestrel went for a circus ringmaster outfit instead, black fishnet stockings layered underneath a black ruffled skirt with knee-high platform boots. [break][break]The little gold details on the metal eyelets for the laces and the cap of the toe tied into the golden embroidery on Kitt's flamboyant teal-blue coat, exaggerated coattails sweeping up into a carefully constructed curl at the end. Their hair had been teased out into an obnoxious mane of waves, temporarily streaked with blue and gold beneath the velvety blue tophat that matched their coat. A dark walnut cane topped with a simple golden orb completed the look, though Grandpa Gerald would miss the cane before long, since it was one of his favorites. Kitt had finished out the look with a fake mustache, the kind that was long and twirled at the end which had their grandfather cackling something about 'Snidely Whiplash' when he saw. [break][break]It was enough to get them dolled up for the night, ready for anything. An escape room was just a challenge to be overcome, all on the road to (hopefuilly) making new friends. Though, ultimately Kitt was also grateful they had been assigned to a group with a teacher in it; they were too used to having adults close at hand to feel comfortable without one around in a group as big as this one. Maybe it was sad that three people was a little overwhelming. Maybe Kitt was working really hard to ignore that very loud thought. [break][break]Kitt nodded along as Bonnie Pendrick explained her reasoning, but they were immediately distracted by the view of pulsing darkness in the corner. Was that a black hole?! They moved away from it with a little shudder, soon finding themself at the windowsill instead. Kitt picked up the pocket watch and tilted its face into the light coming in from the window to check if it was keeping time correctly, or if it might contain some other clue. THE DUSTY STUDY INTERACTING WITH THE BOOKSHELF 🤚● As your fingers trace the spines of the dusty old books, a musty odor fills the air. The books are neatly arranged, with nothing unusual at first glance. Then, your hand brushes against a row of four books near the center—they feel different from the others. When you try to pull one from the shelf, you realize none of them move. Their titles read: The Shadow's Embrace, Bloodstone Chronicles, Secrets of the Manor, and Children of the Woods. Interacting with the Candle 🤚● You pick up the half-melted black candle from the windowsill and notice its flame burning a bright, eerie blue. Behind it, the window reveals only an inky black void, as though the glass has been painted over, hiding the outside world. As you carry the candle toward the painting, its flame remains unusually strong and bright, refusing to dim. VIEWING the PAINTING 🔍● A large painting of a foggy forest hangs before you. As you lean in for a closer look, searching for any hidden messages, something catches your eye—the eerie blue light of the candle reflecting off a metal object, barely visible, peeking out from behind the frame. VIEWING the Quill 🔍● The quill lies on an old sheet of parchment, its feather a deep, rich black that looks oddly perfect in the dusty room. Strangely, fresh writing shines beneath the quill, even though there’s no inkwell around, and the quill’s tip is completely dry. The words on the paper are written in an unfamiliar script, and you can't understand their meaning. Viewing the Papers 🔍● A few yellowed papers sit on the desk, their edges curling and fragile from age. Some of the writing is faded and hard to read, while other parts look blank, as if the ink has been lost to time. But one sheet stands out: an old wedding invitation, faded and tattered. You can barely make out the initials at the top—E and V—likely the bride and groom. Viewing the Hole 🔍● Your gaze is drawn to the dark void in the wall, a gaping hole that seems to absorb all light around it. It’s wide enough for your arm to fit through, an eerie sight that sparks both curiosity and dread.
What secrets could be hidden within? Do you dare to reach into the unknown? Interacting with Gold Pocket Watch 🤚● With a gentle hand, you cradle the unnervingly pristine gold pocket watch, studying it closely. As you brush your thumb against its side, the watch feels unnaturally warm, almost as if it’s pulsing with life. Suddenly, the ticking grows louder, echoing in the silence, and the hands of the watch begin to spin rapidly. As the watch ticks faster, you feel the walls shift, moving inward a few inches and intensifying the sense of confinement in the room. A chilling whisper echoes in your ear: “Your time is running out.”A disembodied, creepy female voice echoes in the stillness, whispering, "Strike one." Room Size: The walls have shifted inward slightly, tightening the room and adding a claustrophobic atmosphere. Warning:Careful—two more strikes, and it's game over. PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Macondo]

Bonnie looked up and around as the walls began to shift, her lips pursed in a tight frown. "Huh. Neat effect. Alright, so the watch is bad. Got it." She fished her notepad out of her bag, rapidly scrawling down the names of the four immobile books.[break][break] "Four books that don't move, here. Looks like they're part of the setpiece. Titles are The Shadow's Embrace, Bloodstone Chronicles, Secrets of the Manor and Children of the Woods. That painting over there by you, sir," Bonnie nodded towards Walther, reluctant as she was to single out the teacher. "Is what I'd guess the Children of the Woods are, do you see anything over there?"[break][break] The blonde chewed on this inside of her cheek for a moment before speaking up again.[break][break] "Good thinking with the candle, by the way. It wasn't my first thought, but however that blue light works, it might help reveal a clue. Black light and all that. He messed up, in his haste he made a mistake, but luckily it was a mistake that bore no consequence…at least from him. While he did arrive at the manor quite late and was given a really fast explanation, it still didn’t really excuse himself from his rather reckless actions. In his mind he just saw the candle and it just screamed a hint reveler to him. It wasn’t until he noticed the ringmaster of their group grabbing the watch that the walls began to close in a bit and the temperature began to drop with the hollow voice ringing out.
Walther didn’t say a word, but his hidden eye could only glance over at the pocket watch then back down at the candle. Walther didn’t made a single sound, but after staring down at it for a moment, his free hand could open his palm and that very palm just found itself over his face. It was his hast that made the rules slip out of his mind for that very moment. Two haunted items in the room, and he went and picked up the glowing blue flamed black candle.
Lowering his hand from his face he mentally shook his mental cussing out and decided to focus back on the puzzle. As he stared upon the painting, the silent teacher looked over his shoulder as the girl of the group began to speak. The books seemed like a clue for sure, and he came to an agreement that the “Children of the Woods” book could be referring to the painting he was looking upon. As he glanced at the painting his eyes widened a bit as the blue light managed to reflect off something. “I do…” Walther said.
The girl did offer some praise for him using the candle, but he shook his head. “Thanks, but it was a dumbass move…” Walther said softly as he turned to look over at the group. “This is rich coming from me after I went in like a dumbass grabbing the first thing I saw, but I’ll state the obvious that we need to be careful of what we touch. Don’t touch anything unnecessarily and only do so if you are completely sure. We need to work together on this so share whatever you notice.” Walther said as he used his free hand and pointed his thumb over his shoulder at the painting behind him.
“For instance, there is something metallic behind this painting. As per one the book’s title giving a hit, I will take the chance and grab it…” Walther said as he placed down the candle on the nearby table and began to reach for whatever was behind the painting. “Also…if I were to make a guess then The Shadow's Embrace could potentially refer to that hole. I feel its worth investigating…but I’ll leave it up to you guys…” Walther said. He had hoped to of gone through this without having to speak really at all, but the only one that was speaking was the witch. If they were going to do this then they needed to be on the same page and needed a leader to keep them organized. No way in hell did Walther want to be the leader so he only hoped someone would take that role for their group, but if that didn’t happen then he would have to do what he must.

[attr="class","gaelpostbg"] [attr="class","gaelpost"]‘Course, good ol’ Gael didn’t mind the chaos of a sh*tshow. As the walls crept inward, a chill swirling around at their feet, a wicked smirk etched itself onto his lips. After all, there was nothing quite as thrilling as watching other’s misfortunes. While the rest scrambled on high alert—Blue narrating every nerve-wracking detail and Sam wringing his hands over the group’s urge to pick up everything in sight—Gael casually leaned back against the desk, arms crossed, looking as smug as sin. Sam spotted something behind the painting and then directed everyone’s attention to the black hole in the wall, adding, “Also… if I were to make a guess then The Shadow’s Embrace could potentially refer to that hole. I feel its worth investigating… but I’ll leave it up to you guys…” Gael tilted his head, pointing a lazy finger in the direction of the circus ringmaster in their group. “I’m thinking Circus Soleil over there,” He drawled, his smirk still playing on his lips. “Seeing as he’s already snagged our first strike.”--- OOC: Few notes here. Gael is doing absolutely nothing this round it seems, cause he's a little sh*t. And Snowpuff, I know that Kitt is they/them! The ominous warning was definitely enough reason for Kitt to set the device back down, tucking both hands under their arms sheepishly. "I, uh...sorry..." They really didn't want to be the one who struck out and ruined the event for everyone else--that had happened too many times when they were younger, it felt like a very real fear--so the idea of investigating anything else seemed particularly unappealing, now. The whole point was to investigate, though, and they paid attention as Bonnie explained what she'd found with the books, and tried not to shrink in on themself too obviously when Coach Menon reminded the group not to touch everything willy-nilly. They couldn't help the guilty hunch getting worse when Gael spoke, though, twisting fingers together in front of them. "If you guys want me to try..."
[break][break]Thinking for a long moment, Kitt wandered a little closer to the desk to look at the quill and its writing, trying to get a good look without touching anything. As they did, they tried to sound out the thought process out loud. "I don't really see anything that makes me think of bloodstones immediately, but there could be some association between the Quill and the Chronicles? Or maybe the other one, the uhm...Secrets of the Manor?" Both were sort of related to things you write down, weren't they? Kitt felt like maybe they were stretching a little. The children of the woods part seemed pretty solidly covered by the forested painting, though, and Kitt quite agreed with Coach Menon--the black hole-looking thing in the corner was definitely Shadow's Embrace, in their mind. [attr=class,ooc-notes] Kitt just deciding not to touch anything because they Ruined It omg. :'D You're fine though, Aine, Kitt doesn't care much about being misgendered & will probably only mention when asked! THE DUSTY STUDY VIEWING THE Desk 🔍● You examine the old oak desk, covered in scattered papers and a unique-looking quill. Further down, you spot a drawer marked with a heart symbol. Next to it, a keyhole catches the light, making you wonder: is it locked? Interacting with the PAINTING 🤚● You move the painting aside to retrieve it, and in that moment, the fog in the painting swirls, revealing the figure of a man hanging from a tree, a noose tight around his neck. Room Size: The walls have shifted inward slightly, tightening the room and adding a claustrophobic atmosphere. Brass Key: You've obtained a Brass Key! What is it for, I wonder? Warning:Careful—two more strikes, and it's game over. PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Macondo]

The blonde bit down hard on the inside of her cheek, letting the sensation derail her thoughts as she knelt down in front of the desk. Good, good, something to focus on, a puzzle to solve that might help her not think about how badly she didn't want to fuck up tonight.[break][break] "Attention, please." She spoke up in her club president voice once the debate over the hole died out some. "Found a keyhole. Willing to peg the desk as Secrets of the Manor since secrets are typically locked away. Walther appreciated the witch’s words, and it did help him move on and not smack himself. It was a tiny mistake that he perhaps was overreacting on and there was no point on dwelling on it. Focusing on the task at hand, Walther reached forward and took hold of the shiny object which seemed to be some sort of key. In these kinds of escape rooms keys were always valuable so it was a big win in his eye. His eye would narrow upon the picture changing it form and that only brought up more questions. As he continued to look upon the painting his attention would soon be caught by the one calling for attention.
Thank the gods…
They actually had someone with leadership qualities in this group! Sure, it was probably bad for a teacher to think something like that considering they are supposed to be in charge usually, but Walther was glad that he wasn’t going to be the only one speaking. From her tone it did sound like she had some experience on leading so that helped even more. He turned to face her, crossing his arms as he listened to her words before holding up the key. “The painting was hiding a key as you can see, though that paining might not be referring to the “Children of the Woods” book on the account of the lack of children….unless the kids killed that man and hung his body…” Walther said stoically as he held his chin in thought for a moment.
Walther would have volunteered to stick his hand in if nobody wanted to but the witch seemed to of volunteered and Walther just proceeded to his next task. Witch seemed to be the one doing the most, ring master seemed to be trying while vampire seemed to do the opposite. Walther wasn’t going to dictate how people should play the game or what they should be doing so it didn’t really bug him that vampire was just casually watching and if anything it did confirm that the desk wasn’t haunted at the very least. Ring master managed to also bring up a good theory though it was still far too early to come to a conclusion.
Walking up to the desk, Walther couldn’t help but keep what the ring master said in mind and looked upon the quill. “possible…” Walther said to the ring master and his eye narrowed upon the quill. "The quill dry…yet the ink on the paper is wet…this could be our second haunted item, but we must remain cautious” Walther said as he got on one knee to examine the keyhole that was noted. “While I deal with this can one of you use the candle and see if its flame can illuminate a hidden message on one of those papers?” Walther said. If they were going to do this then they needed to do it completely which also involved finding out mystery of this place. He did notice a heart upon the key base as well as a heart upon the drawer. Feeling confident the two were linked, Walther inserted the key into the keyhole and began to open it up, examining the interior and its hidden treasure should he be successful in opening it.
Summary: Walther uses the key and opens the drawer

[attr="class","gaelpostbg"] [attr="class","gaelpost"]Surprisingly, Circus Soleil was all jittery apologies, practically tripping over his own two feet. Somehow, the whole damn room had decided this desk—his perch—was now the hot spot. One inspecting the locked drawer, the other leaned over his shoulder to take a closer look at the contents atop the desk. Jesus f**king Christ. Dracula let out a scoff, plugging one ear when Blue decided to announce the existence of the locked drawer. And then, miracles of miracles, Sam found the f**king key, sparking the first actual sliver of interest Gael had felt since stepping into this game. But, naturally, they couldn’t shut up long enough to make it bearable. “Just shut the f**k up and use the damn key on the drawer.” Gael snapped, exhaling sharply before stepping back to let them fumble with it. Then, he turned to the bookshelf, figuring he might as well check out these books the gremlins were blathering non-stop about.
